They had a much larger crowd than I expected. Did the Rebel faithful just sell their tickets for a profit or do we have that many turncoats in our fanbase? We have to do better than that.

They have one of the largest fanbases in the country. I wasn't surprised at all. They always travel well.

They have a huge fanbase in Memphis and Nashville/Knoxville isn't extremely far from Oxford either. Also they have one of the largest fanbases in the nation.

1) We poor.
2) They have a large fanbase in nearby West Tennessee.
3) This is the last time they'll play us in Oxford for, I don't know, fifteen years.

I understand that they have the large fanbase but my question was more to the point of how they got the tickets. It was just surprising considering the smattering of bama fans and they usually have quite a large contingent too.

Because OM fans are greedy fricks of course. However, I know my family has relatives that are UT fans as well. I'm sure a lot of those tickets were sold to close friends or family members. It's not like either fan base resents the other anyway.

Alabama was the biggest game in school history.

Tennessee isn't quite the opponent Alabama is, at the moment.

Plus, orange sticks out more than crimson?

They brought a lot in 2009 too. Outside of LSU, their fanbase travels the best in the SEC. They apparently had a ton in Norman too.
