Why does A&M continue to use the young excuse on defense?

DT: SR, JR, SO, SO
DE: JR, FR, SO, FR, FR
LB: SR, SR, SO, SO, SR
NB: JR, SR
CB: SR, JR. FR-RS
S: SR, FR, SR, FR

By my count you start 8 SR/JRs on defense. I just don't understand the narrative. You will actually be younger on defense next year when you have to replace almost the entire back line.

Maybe because Tim DeRuyter was the shittiest recruiter of all-time, and all of our talent is young. Crazy concept I know.

They must not be all that talented if they can't beat out the crappy SRs/Jrs currently playing.

Because our playmakers are young. Outside of Deshazor Everret we don't have a Jr/Sr on the D that is very good.

All A&M, all the time. So much effort to end up looking dumb. Congrats on being Agsessed.

Then just say you're no good, not that you're young.

That's a relatively veteran group.

no good is the answer here...no disgrace to say this statement, I say it all the time when discussing units of the team I support.

Because their Daddy, LSU, uses the same excuse... Like father like son.

We're playing guys who are either BAD, undersized or unathletic that know the defense. Next year we will be younger per se, but will be able to get more talent on the field without their head spinning.

That's fair. All that means is you suck this year, not that you are young.

Because they don't want to admit their DC is as bad in his job as Matheny is as the Cardinals Manager. (Or Jon Daniels as Rangers GM)

lol what the frick does this even mean. Most of us are saying Snyder has the rest of this year to prove himself. And why are you bringing MLB into this thread?

We've had several younger guys get hurt throughout the year who were starting or on the two deep at one point as well- Hilliard, Henderson, Washington missed time as well. The LB and DB units are just bad though

That might be the two deep but if you look at starters its this

DE: FR
DE: JR
DT: SO
DT SR
LB: SO
LB: SO
LB SR (Walkon who replaced a sophmore)
DB: SR
DB: RS-FR
FS: FR
SS: SR

So 5 of the 11 1st stringers are Junior classification or higher.

All that said, "young" is absolutely an excuse and I would generally be okay with it if these young players were actually playing better instead of worse each week.
