A&M has 8 starters on offense coming back next year and 9 starters on defense coning back. We are the inverse of MSU.

Looking at the other threads OP has started he is truly obsessed with A&M.

all the ags I've been around can't stop talking about how bad we suck on defense. Never heard a one making the age excuse.

So 5 of the 11 1st stringers are Junior classification or higher.

Based on this depth chart you start 8 SRs/JRs.

It's relative. We are a better D than last year but we also had nowhere to go but up. Our playmakers are almost all Freshman or Sophomores and they have beaten out a lot of Jr/Srs for play time or starting jobs. The big killer was losing 3 Sophomores to dumbassery as well as AJ Hilliard (another Sophomore) to injury. Those 4 players are likely the difference between being a mediocre D and a really salty one. That's football though.

If the current recruiting class turns out as expected there should be a significant upgrade next year and an even more dramatic one the year after. As it is our D is fine if our offense jumps out to a lead and they just need to keep the opponent in check, hold them to FG's and a few 3 and outs or an occasional turnover. If we have multiple 3 and outs on offense though and put our D on the field a lot we are in big trouble though. There are flashes of really great play but it isn't consistent. Last year our D just flat sucked regardless.

Not that I dont trust "ourlads.com" but they list 12 positions not 11. They threw the nickel position in there. Secondly, Shaan Washington is absolutely a starter at LB, not Baggs and like I mentioned earlier, if Hilliard doesnt get hurt we are starting 3 sophmore LBs right now.

Neither Bass nor Baggs should be playing SEC football.

The front 4 is also not nearly set in stone with that lineup. Hall (SO), Walker (SO) and Henderson (FR) have all seen starts this season based on matchups.

We are returning 8 or 9 starters on defense, depending on how you classify Ivan Robinson.

AJ Hilliard, who started the season at LBer but was lost due to injury in the South Carolina (and was playing great) will return next season.

A defense that returns 9 (or 8) starters is pretty dang young. When you also factor in the fact that our better playmakers are true freshmen, there js good reason to think the defense will continue to improve.

Also I would love for you to find me a team that only has 5 JR/SR in their front 7 too deep and call them a "Veteran group" with a straight face.

Aggies how is Julien Obioha look out there. I know he's pretty fast for a defensive end but when I watch he doesn't get much pass rush off. What are yall's thoughts on him?

He's not very good, and if he doesn't improve he will eventually lose the starting job to one of the two true freshmen who are pushing him.

The only reason #95 is starting right now is because Cunningham hasn't caught him yet.

A&M should be able to find 11 fast kids who can tackle in the State of Texas every year without much effort at all.
WAY too much of this 7 on 7 Summer League touch football stuff and it produces lousy defenders because the tackling skills have no value there.

A&M should have fired their DC already.

Where in this body of text did he say that you said that?

A&M is running the bend before we break defense. It's not about age, ask any single middle age woman that.

UT has played 2 decent teams and gave up over 30 points to both of them. Nobody cares about holding shite teams to low yardage/points.

A&M held Rice, SMU & Lamar to 19 points total. Tennessee gave up 19 to Arkansas St. alone.
