Especially a sun belt school that's had a football program for 5 years.

Is this unprecedented?

I have a hard time feeling bad about playing a couple of garbage teams when a team like FSU plays nothing but garbage teams.

Gotta do what you gotta do to get the easy wins.

Auburn played the mighty Western Carolina Catamounts on their NC contending season last year.

Then Jamis came on Gus..

But playing AT the garbage team is different. It's not like this is the only time State has done this recently either.

It's a money saving deal for the school. You sign a 3 yr deal, two at home, one away. Instead of just buying a win like most schools do. The away games are at places with either a built in State fan base or within easy driving distance of the fans.

When are they going to do the right thing and return the trip up to Orono to play at Alfond Stadium?

Sadly, he doesn't want a solid explanation. He wants something to take the soreness away.

MSU gave the people of Mobile, Alabama the greatest day of their lives and we are being criticized for it.

Hawaii has a special NCAA rule for FBS teams playing them.

quote:

The Hawaii Exemption is a rule enacted by the NCAA that allows Division I football teams that play at Hawaii to schedule a 13th regular-season game. The rule also allows the Warriors to play an extra game.

Playing at Hawaii against a garbage team is basically a vacation. Think of it like the pro bowl

This this and this.

I rarely go to away games due to my schedule...but even I would make time for Hawaii. I would set up shop and be island hopping all week.
