If in fact Muschamp loses his gig at Florida, do you think Mullen would jump ship? Mullen has job security at State , but State loses a lot of seniors who start and will probably be average at best for several years. Florida will also pay more. What would you do if you were Mullen and the Gator job was offered to you?

Depends on how much he legitimately likes Starkville. Otherwise, the Florida job is superior in every single category across the board. I could see Mullen pulling a Patterson or Briles and refusing to ever leave those schools. But smart money would have to be on him jumping ship for the easily better job

Bottom line, he wins the sec championship, imo, he has to stay. State will pay him.

If no sec championship, I think that he's gone.

He can build a dynasty in Gainesville. Stark Vegas...not so much.

money is sort of a non-issue now with SECN money. I think MSU could afford 5m~ to keep him if they wanted. it would just come down to which job he prefers and if he wins it all, I dunno why he would leave a place where he can do that.

if he DOESNT win it all, he has a reason to think greener pastures exist and MSU has less of a reason to pay 5m+

Sgent Bobo would be too obvious. No way FLorida falls for it a second time. Agent Smart, maybe.

It would be somewhat self serving but also an intelligent move if Mullen carried this team to glory and then used that to go somewhere else before the team totally changes next year. It really just depends on what kind of guy he is.

I don't think they'll go with another defense guy.

Yes, the fans were talking about firing him before the eggbowl. With his recruiting, this is a one time thing at MSU. Plus they can only give him a four year contract per state law. Win as much as you can and go to UF for your dream/final job. Makes sense to me.

No SEC school should hire anyone without head coaching experience
