Been thinking about this for a while.

What if UGA suspended Gurley early before the NCAA and media outlets could seriously piece together a story and evidence. Maybe UGA knew a lot more than we and the media know. We internally investigate it ourselves and hide as much as we can. We let the $400 slip as a way to discipline Gurley. Subsequently, we use this small suspension to sue the shite out of Bryan Allen since there is a state law saying the university can. We ruin his life for trying to shop "evidence" of Gurley and trying to ruin our season and his Heisman run. Thus saving Gurley from injury for 1-2 games and having him more fresh for Florida and Auburn.

We beat Mizzou today. We run the table. National Champs. Gurley wins the Heisman. Richt retires and ascends into heaven. We hire Kirby Smart as a head coach and go on to form a dynasty lasting years and years.

One can dream, right?

There is NO reason to speculate as the rules are clear. Once the university learned of it they had to suspend while the investigation moves forward.

if UGA did it's due diligence, then suspending him means this is probably a bigger deal than most of us are surmising..

I'm going to remain super optimistic...we get him back for Florida...our moving forward with the suspension will isolate the investigation to this one dealer...2 games.. God..please
