First off, let me say today's loss sucks. They all do. The sun will still come up tomorrow morning and we'll still be fans of a Top 10 team.

Secondly, let's all continue to pray for Kenyan Drake. He's a helluva player and deserves our support. Let's hope his injury is not career ending like Prothro.

Third, if we had to lose one (only one) this was the perfect weekend for it to happen. Three other Top 6 teams lost today as well as #14, #15, #17 and #19. We'll probably be ranked around #7 on Monday.

Ole Miss travels to Texas A&M next weekend and Auburn goes to Mississippi State. We still have to play 3 of those teams with 2 of them at home.

Never forget that we won our last 2 National Championships having suffered a loss.

Yeldon seems to have turned a corner and looks like his old self.

We probably won't play a tougher defense than the one we faced today (we still outgained them by almost 70 yards).

Eddie Jackson will be back soon. We missed his physicality out there today.

Our boys have a lot left to play for with the next big test being the Arkansas rushing attack. Win next week and we may be back in the top 5 by October 13th.

It could be worse. We could be LSU fans.

Or Saints' fans.

They got destroyed.

I wish they won.

I know they beat us today but I don't think Ole Miss will beat A&M next Saturday in College Station. Call it sour grapes but I think they lose.

One of Auburn/Mississippi State have to lose next week seeing as they are playing each other. We play them both down the stretch so the opportunity to jump them is there.

A&M will be tough given our secondary struggles but the game is in Tuscaloosa and we should have our best CB back by then.

LSU always plays us tough but they are too young in my opinion to beat us, even though it is a road game.

I think we tried too hard to pass today. Hopefully Lane watches too he film and makes adjustments accordingly.

Don't look now but our old nemesis Utah is beating #8 UCLA at the moment.

It was funny to see them post their LOL at Bama threads while getting their asses kicked by LSU.

Even as a negatide I can appreciate that we are not LSU fans.

Now to address some of your points:

Drake

That is by far the worst part of this loss. It isn't even close. I feel sick when thinking about his injury.

Still need to see Baylor lose. Makes me a little sick that I might have to root for big game Bob.

FSU and ND play each other. Maybe the stadium will collapse.

Ole Miss needs to lose two times minimum. Hope Kenny Hill goes back to being Kenny Heisman and not Kenny Freshman.

We're not as good as 2011 and 2012. Maybe we could have an Au 2013 type season where we just barely win every game. Those teams had dominant o-lines, at least one NFL corner.

Yeldon seems to have turned a corner and looks like his old self.

Finally. Imagine if the right side of our o-line could figure out how to block.

Miss St. will give us all we can handle (and more).

Eddie Jackson will be back soon. We missed his physicality out there today.

Beyond shocked that TB wasn't pulled in favor of Eddie. TB is young and will be good eventually. Eddie is good now. Frustrating that we didn't see any adjustments there.

Perhaps. It will be interesting to see how they respond. Will they look like 2010 or have more hunger like 2012? I saw nothing to indicate that we have improved our defense against the spread. Bo might as well have been Trevor Knight in the second quarter.

Even if this year doesn't turn out well, we always have the basketball team... shite.

The #15 team, USC, just lost too.

We are going to be just fine. Remember, we don't have to win the SEC to get into the playoff. We just need to be a Top 4 team.

Completely Agree. We had another game where we had moments on defense where we looked completely lost and we let Bo Wallace have his way with us in the second half. It's becoming really annoying how we let average QBs become legends when the play us.

But at least Saban feels appreciated now.

We held them to 323 yards. They didn't run up tempo. They just made plays when they needed to. We get Jackson back and our defense will improve.

I hope he does. I wouldn't trade him for any other coach, but damn it sucks when the same things continue to beat us. Special teams disaster? Check. Lost DB's? Check. Defense looking frantically at the sideline instead of at their opponent? Check.

O/T, but why the hell did we go for the long field goal after Griff missed the first one? They ended up using that relatively short field position to cash in. Wouldn't it be better to just punt unless a field goal is under 35 yards?

It's gonna take one hell of a game to beat AU that is for sure

I agree though on it was a good weekend and early enough to lose a game

We just have to root like hell that Miss St beats more teams and we can beat them

I'll never understand the mentality to kick a low percentage FG instead of trying to pin them deep. It cost us LSU 2011 and when we did it today, it gave new life to Ole Miss' offense. That is a stubbornness that Saban will apparently never get over. He has way too much faith in our kickers. Why we continue to kick kickoffs to the 10 is beyond me. We're the only team in college football that tries that. I still don't know why Bobby Williams is employed at UA.

As I said in another thread a few minutes ago, let's get through October before we make any lasting judgements on this team.

We have Arkansas, A&M and Tennessee over the next 3 weeks. We certainly could be 7-1 going into November. Teams ahead of us will lose. It's inevitable seeing as Auburn will have played Ole Miss and Mississippi State over that time.

Just win and the rest will take care of itself. November will be a bitch no doubt but LSU looks really bad and we get Auburn at home.
