Rotating Charles and Davis, and they've got McKnight on the shelf who could be their Korliss Marshalll.

Chiefs have feigned the WR end around on this drive and use pulling guards and fullbacks.

Chiefs are pounding the spread offense Patriots too.

I had some similar thoughts.

I also liked those three tight end bubble screens they were going to when they had a mismatch on the outside.

I've thought that a lot, though McKnight is going to be out for the season now and likely won't be retained next year.

Brandon Allen has been playing a lot like Alex Smith this year, too.

Is it wrong for me to say that Jonathan Williams is ten times the back that Knile was during his time here? I just love the way he runs.

I love Collins too, but I've never seen a tailback back hit the hole harder than Williams and run tougher after contact than he does. He reminds me a little of Trent Richardson when he was at Bama.

Well, being honest, Dennis Johnson was probably more effective all things considered than Knile was in college. But DJ had probably reached his ceiling, while Knile is more suited for the NFL. Knile has really developed as a runner since joining the Chiefs and will probably improve more if he can stay healthy.

When Knile was healthy, I felt as confident in him as I did when McFadden was on the field.

McFadden's SO year:
284 carries; 1647 yards (5.8 YPC) 14 touchdowns

Knile's SO year:
204 carries; 1322 yards (6.5 YPC) 13 touchdowns

I really think that if he'd stayed healthy here, he'd be mentioned in the same breath. But, to be fair, it's a lot easier to run when you have a great passing game around you as well.

Eh, those stats are a little misleading when you consider the passing attack Knile had to help him in 2010. I really don't think he's comparable to McFadden.

Davis' last season here he didn't even gain 350 yards. He bolted early. He was one of the locker room cancers that quit early in the season.

I can't put him on any list

Look at how many times Knile fumbled the ball. He is not in the same league with Darren McFadden, at least from a college football standpoint.
Defenses knew that DMAC was going to run it, Knile benfited from a potent passing attack.

Our fan base has mythologized Knile's 2010 season and career so much that it's reached a ridiculous height.

Not to crap on a former player at all, but Knile's success here was really only limited to the six good games he had in 2010. He was lost in the shuffle in 2009, hurt in 2011, and godawful in 2012. He played in 36 games in his career and only had six 100 yard games. Six. By comparison, Alex Collins has only played in 17 career games and has already had seven 100 yard games. Plus, in 2010, he didn't break 100 yards until the 7th game (Ole Miss) of the season.

Again, not crapping on a former player, just confused as to why we're always looking to gin up reasons to compare someone to McFadden when he's arguably the third best back in SEC history.

I have no problem with your post. Knile truly only had a good 1/2 of a season, yet it's a little unfair to compare him and Collins solely by yardage gained.

We wouldn't compare Brandon Allen and Tyler Wilson by passing yardage alone.

You can't help but think about how Alvin Bailey and Knile Davis could have helped the team last year, but they both gave up on their Jr. seasons and were already cashing NFL checks in their minds. Those jokers that were stealing money and calling themselves Arkansas coaches deserve to be charged with grand theft.

I said it then and I'll say it forever, those guys tanked the season as payback for Bobby. They all ran back to him when he got the Louisville job. We let that slide too often when Jeff Long's performance is discussed.

I'm coming around a little bit on Chaney, he did do a pretty nice job against A&M but it is frustrating to see him go retard in the pressure spots. At least he's not full Tardtrino yet.

I've said it before, but for someone hailed as an offensive genius, Petrino made some mindbogglingly stupid play calls at crucial times during his tenure here.

An obvious example is the late possession against Alabama in 2010 when all we had to do to ice the game was run the football, but my go-to is the Liberty Bowl. His decision-making during the last 5 minutes of that game was some of the worst coaching I've seen on any level of football -- incomplete passes, punt, ECU drives and then misses a field goal, incomplete passes, punt, ECU drives and misses a field goal, we (thankfully) make it to OT and win on account of their kicker going full Tiffin. Nothing dumber than trying to finesse a Conference USA team in 15 degree weather when your receivers can't catch a pass to save their lives and you outweigh the defense by 30 pounds on the line.
