Question about Ole Miss #38 helmets

Why did they say it would violate NCAA rules? Kent State has worn this helmet multiple times this year in honor of a fallen player. Seems like the same concept.

Because that was a backwards pass and refs got it right the first time.

No idea. Maybe it is new.
Either way the powder blues were nice, but I frankly wouldn't want to see them again unless for commemorative occasions such as today.

WAOM explains everything

That's probably a great explanation actually. I'm watching SEC now and heard them say the reasoning behind the switch and my mind immediately went to the Kent State helmets. Definitely seems like a double standard which is kind of BS.

Yep. The powder blues were a nice surprise though.

An upgrade IMO but still I'm not a fan of the NCAA having a double standard.

there wasn't any ncaa rule violations...not sure how that rumor got started.
They tried to make the powder blues as secret as possible so they threw some 38 stickers on our normal helmets to keep everyone guessing..

I don't know if they ball faked the helmets or if they were forced to change but I prefer the ones they wore in the game obviously.

Not that I believe that story at all but that's a pretty shitty fake story by your equipment department if they want people to believe that's true.

I'd hate to think they'd dog the NCAA that's the last fricking thing we need

So I randomly started arguing with this Arkansas State fan on twitter a bit ago because he was saying that they would be better than Arkansas this year if they were in the SEC and would for sure make a bowl.
His evidence is they had a "chance" to beat UT and they have beat Memphis handily in the past.

No way that guy was serious right? Surely someone isn't that stupid

Dude is dead serious. I thought he was joking at first when I jumped in. Unfortunately he isn't. He says they could beat Vandy, Kentuck, South Carolina, Florida, Arkansas and Ole Miss.

They wore the 38 helmets during warm-ups then they went in and got the powder blue helmets. They wanted to keep them as secretive as possible. NCAA had nothing to do with it.

This is why I hate Southern Miss fans. They used to be like this all the time.

It's baffling how their minds work. They can't beat us out for any player instate but yet they think they can beat guys ranked 1-10 with guys ranked 11-30. That's even without the much better out of state commits mixed in.

That's ludicrous
My favorite argument was when he said South Carolina looked terrible but UGA was pretty good. I obviously pointed out USCe beat UGA.
The guy is obviously clueless but these guys definitely live in the fantasy land that they could actually compete.
