We had 3 votes last week in the AP poll. After crushing NIU, that was only enough to convince 6 more people. I expected a bit more of a jump after beating a team like NIU, but a win over Texas A&M makes all of that pointless.

They lost 9 starters and their QB. It's not like we beat the team they had last year. Not downing our performance, but we didn't manhandle their D-line like I had hoped. Not saying we did bad, but I can't say that win alone should get us in the top 25. And this early in the season, our wins against TT and NIU may prove to be much better or worse. Perhaps I'm just used to the HOgs getting zero love in the polls. Don't know why, but we have NEVER be respected by the pollsters. It is what it is. If we lose to A@M it won't make a shite anyway. If we win, we'll be in the top 20. I'll say 18 or 19.

the fact that we are even having this conversation at this point makes me extremely hopeful for the future. We are ahead of schedule at this point IMO. Most folks thought we would either split TT/NIU or lose both at the beginning of the season. Our coaches are truly getting the best out of what they have to work with.

Actually only 3 voted for us. Two 24's and a 23. Tom Murphy was not one of them.
