I have a 4 year old. If I had done that to him, I would feel like a total piece of shite and likely couldn't sleep at night.

No frickin shite, right? My folks used to tell me to go pick my own switch. If I was a smart arse and picked one to big, guess what? I got it with the big stick or as the news is reporting " a small tree branch" give me a frickin break. I've got a kid on the way. If she gets out of line she's going to get the same punishment I did. I wasn't a great kid but I turned out ok. frick this country is turning into a bunch of pussies.

It was on the radio this morning & I can't find a link. I imagine it is in the police report. The NFL is throwing as much money and PR at this as possible to cover it up so if you want to read it better file a FOIA request quickly.

Sounded like from one article (who's validity I am not sure of) that AP didn't mean to but he kinda laughed it off. The comments were backed on the radio today so, I mean, I think smacking a kid isn't wrong because most of us were but AP kinda went nutty on it.

Look I'm a hard arse too. I got whipped with a switch. I got hit with the belt buckle if i tried to get away. My dad didn't stop whipping me until I turned around and grabbed the belt from him when I was 15 and told him that was the last time I would be getting spanked with a belt.
I have 3 kids the youngest 5 and oldest 11. I would NEVER dream of hitting them with a switch and I would NEVER hit them hard enough to draw blood or to leave marks on them. It's not necessary.
Peterson crossed the line between discipline and physical abuse. Pleading ignorance is no excuse IMO a short stint in jail is not unreasonable

I got whipped plenty, at home and at school (I was a significant smart arse).
