which finebaum denied.

Not sure if that increases the quality of the quote from spurrier or decreases it because the premise is fabricated.

I vote increases it. Truth doesn't matter when you're busting balls.

Makes the quote even better

Think he ended the quote by saying "and he picked Alabama to beat Oklahoma the same way, so I knew we were in good shape"

If Finebaum didn't say it then the HBC should not have quoted him as saying it.

Truth ALWAYS matters. Always. Busting balls, when done correctly, is about hyperbole .... capitalizing on a weakness.

Finebaum will, no doubt, call the HBC on it this afternoon and rightfully so.

I suspect there is more to the story and it will be clarified by both sides.

Just bc he picked us right before the game on the morning show doesn't mean he wasn't saying that shite all week on his radio show. Which he did.

Surely you can think of something better to do with that washed up ole coot than play golf.

On a side note, is it just me, or is Finebaum seemingly the only person that gets under Spurrier's skin/irritates him a bit?

Finebaum just explained it all to open his show ... as I predicted. He opened by setting the record straight and defending the HBC in the process.

Spurrier did follow that up by saying he was just kidding and that he likes Finebaum.

That does not matter, it was still a good quote by the ole ball coach.

I think Finebaum and Spurrier are friends IRL. Pretty funny stuff.

Agree. I think some people take things way too seriously.

I've noticed that a lot of Auburn fans adhere to that philosophy.
