For all of the negative posters following a road loss to a divisional rival in the second game of the year, I'd like to ask you: why are a Georgia fan? You should probably just jump ship and be an Alabama fan (well until they lose), or are you only a fan when we go 13-1 or 12-2? Why can't you cheer college students who are half your age and are more athletic than you ever were? Why belittle the coaching staff who puts in more hours than you know of so that kids have the opportunity to be successful? Because with the 13-1 and 12-2 and 11-2 years comes a 6-7 and a 8-5 because that's how football works, it's a game. They'll play another game next week and another season next year. As a fan you may enjoy your life a little bit more if you just support and cheer whatever goes out on the field. Because in all reality your opinion on players, coaches, and whatever else carries no weight to the outcome of the games. With that said there is a lot more time this year and we are one of the most successful programs in cfb over the past 15 years. I think coach richt and his staff will be alright.

frick Bama. And I'm a fan but I still hate seeing us lose

Because they're 2 years younger than me and I paid for college while they're going for free

Because they make 6 and 7 figure salaries to be good at their job

But it's always next year and we shite the bed every year

I learned years ago to not let life enjoyment and our football success correlate too much

UGA V

Basically what's been said above. And there's a difference between losing and just having a shitshow. I don't lose my shite when UGA loses because that's just something that happens. Even though that 2012 SECCG was such a kick in the nuts that still frustrates me, there was absolutely zero doubt that everyone played their hearts out (well everyone Grantham/Garner allowed to play but that's a different topic) and Bama just made 1 more play than we did. That's part of life.

What gets old is having the annual game where we seem to try and come up with new ways to cause self-inflicted harm. I think that's why everyone had the reaction they did. We handled Clemson, people (myself included) tricked themselves into thinking "hey, maybe we won't do the same old shite" and then we turned around and did the same old shite.

Do I want coaches fired? No.
Am I going to call out players by name? No. It was a team loss.

Just 'cause I am.

You should probably just jump ship and be an Alabama fan (well until they lose),

Impossible, I have all my teeth, graduated high school, and didn't marry kin.

or are you only a fan when we go 13-1 or 12-2?

I had season tickets during the Goff years and drove 2 1/2 hours to every home game.....don't question my loyalty.

Why can't you cheer college students who are half your age and are more athletic than you ever were?

You have obviously never seen me focused, in "the zone" and kicking azz in foosball.

Why belittle the coaching staff who puts in more hours than you know of so that kids have the opportunity to be successful?

I work 50 plus hours a week to support two kids in college.

Because with the 13-1 and 12-2 and 11-2 years comes a 6-7 and a 8-5 because that's how football works, it's a game.

See above Goff statement.

They'll play another game next week and another season next year. As a fan you may enjoy your life a little bit more if you just support and cheer whatever goes out on the field.

Been to both games so far and still am hoarse from the USC Jr game.

Because in all reality your opinion on players, coaches, and whatever else carries no weight to the outcome of the games.

But my yearly donation to the Hartman foundation does.

With that said there is a lot more time this year and we are one of the most successful programs in cfb over the past 15 years. I think coach richt and his staff will be alright.

I think if we weren't UGA fans, we wouldn't give a flying frick when we shite the bed once or twice a year. Every year, the same story. Bobo screws up the play calling again, just like he does almost every game, but this time it really costs us the game.

Everyone wants to blame the D for us losing, but last year our D was just as bad if not worse, plus we kicked off 3 of our DBs that started. JHC was the hardest hit of the bunch, as he was the most talented DB we had on the team. So this year, it stupid to expect the D to play lights out. So the offense will have to pick up the slack b/c the D won't make plays all game.

The D actually did make a stop, INT, to tie the game or take the lead with 4 mins left. Bobo shite the bed along with Mason. 1st and goal from the 4 yard line, you have the best RB in the nation, you run the ball 3 straight times, and kick a field goal if you gotta. Instead, Bobo tries to get fancy and it fricks us, yet again.

I think a lot of UGA fans are tired of seeing idiotic play calling, cost us a game or 2 every year. And I refuse to believe that Mason gives us the best chance to win at QB. I'm sure these younger qbs can hit a 5 yard slant or wr screen. I'm also pretty sure they can hold on the ball better than Mason can. Mason has 3 dropped balls, 2 on snap exchange, and 1 while waiting to pass. Mason might know the playbook better, but damn it sure doesn't look like it. He looks rattled, nervous, gun shy and is playing like a freshman instead of 5th yr senior.

I also don't see how JSW or MM is gonna help out this team. I'm not even counting on MM to do anything this year, he's gonna have to prove it bc he hasn't played in years it seems like.

Or maybe the problem is that some fans expect more than 3rd - 6th best in the SEC. Maybe we should reduce our expectations and just settle for finishing 2nd or 3rd in the East. This way we won't criticize the coaching staff who is getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, we won't criticize our players when they make bone head mistakes all game or can't throw the ball over 10 yards. This way, people won't make stupid arse threads like this. That was the whole point of this thread right?

What the hell does it matter how many posts this guy has. We are on a message board, his opinion means just as much as yours or mine. If you don't like his post click on another one and leave this one. Or add something constructive to the thread. Thanks have a great day.

I think most posters on this board care deeply about this program and it's success. But let's face facts, UGA is the most underachieving program in the SEC and one of the most in all of college football. The BCS era has come and gone with championships won by AU, UT, LSU (2), UF (2), Bama (3). If USCe had won it , the SEC circle around our state would be complete. And which state is one of the most prolific HS hotbeds in the US? The one left out of the afore-mentioned list.

Just because we question the direction of the program doesn't mean we aren't passionate, just the opposite. We love it too much to see it continue to underachieve.

UGA, yet again, just shite the bed vs a team they should have handled. It happens. But it happens with such regularity here that fans have come to expect it. Deep down I knew USCe would win Sat and, as I stood in the stands getting soaked along with my brethren, my only question was how we'd lose it. That has to change.

This is so very true. look at all the players we have that are in the NFL, I think we have the 3rd most UGA players in the NFL, yet we haven't ever played for a national championship under Richt. They underachieve here, then go on to the NFL to be studs. G Atkins is a prime example. He was good at UGA, but is a stud DT in the NFL.

why are a Georgia fan?

I'm not an alumni....my performance in high school was somewhat underwhelming (and in the early 80's getting accepted to UGA wasn't nearly as difficult as it is today) so I don't have those ties. The reason I am a UGA fan is because I grew up during the Dooley years...I was 14 years old when Herschel Walker signed with UGA....but it actually goes back further than that....

It was the comeback in the 1971 Tech Game

It was the comeback in the 1978 Tech Game

It was Ray Goff leading us back in the Florida game in 1976 when UF had beaten us like a rented mule for the 1st half...

It was Rex Robinson kicking the game winner against UK in 1978 as Munson told my dad and over the radio from a far off place called Lexiington Kentucky at night....

It was when the time in Dallas, Texas was 10 to 9 (if you don't get the reference you have no right to call yourself a DAWG).

It was Kevin Butler kicking one a mile long to beat Clemson in 1984...

It was being 3 hours late for my wifes 30th birthday party on November 16, 1996 because we were in the middle of a crazy 4 or 5 OT game against Auburn..

It is "the play", the hobnailed boot, Munson, Beating Florida, the sugar falling from the sky....it is all of this.

I am a UGA fan because we used to have a reputation for being a tough to beat football team, one that you had to play for 4 quarters. We didn't have talent runnning out our ears but we were solid and tough and we won a lot...and I mean a lot...of games we had no business winning....almost as many of those as we lose now that we have no business losing. This is the reputation of UGA football...we used to be a team that won one every once in a while that we weren't supposed to win....now not so much. If being a UGA fan now means being satisfied with 9 wins a season and never upsetting anyone or winning a meaningful game then I feel sorry for this generation of DAWGS because there is nothing like listening to Munson describe Auburn turning the fire hoses on the small DAWG section after beating a better (on paper) Tiger Team....
