Shamelessly stolen from Texags:

Comparing the first three games from both years, we are light years ahead of where we were at this time last season. We had very similar schedules both years: 1 top 10 team SEC team, Rice, and 1 FBS opponent.

•Points - 2013: 36 ppg, 2014: 14 ppg

•Sacks - 2013: 1 spg, 2014: 3 spg

•Third Down % - 2013: 41%, 2014: 33%

•Rush Yards - 2013: 260 ypg, 2014: 132 ypg
•Total Yards - 2013: 489 ypg, 2014: 386 ypg

We are also giving up five fewer first downs per game, only half as many plays of 10+ yards and have ELEVEN more QB hits/pressures through three games.

This is great news. This D also has the feel to it that they will get better as the season progresses. Never had that feeling last year. Never once.

Seems about right. Just by going through the numbers, Rice would have probably had more success had they thrown the ball instead of running it. They had 241 for rushing and 240 from the air, yet they attempted to rush the ball 55 times vs throwing it 36 times (completed 24 out of those).

We played nickel all damn game. We don't have one healthy starter at LB. The should have been able to run on us.

Mastro
Hillard
Washington

We need as many back as possible.

Bass is too unathletic. Baggs isn't good enough. Walker isn't ready yet. Sanders is fast and can make plays but he doesn't shed blocks and isn't our best tackler. Alaka hasn't been given enough PT yet.
