1. UGA is the same exact team as last year: Gurley will cramp all game, awful secondary, SLOOOWWW Dline, great offense.
2. UF is still searching for an offense, but they did find a playmaker and a groove on offense in the 2nd half.
3. South Carolina has heart. They didn't quit the season after getting embarrassed by Aggy.
4. UK is vastly improved and has a great QB. Don't pencil them in as a W just yet on your schedule.
5. Missouri may be a top contender again.
6. Tennessee at least showed a little bit of fight in them. These freshman will be great. I still don't think they're recruiting OL or QB well enough to compete nationally like they used to. It really stinks for them that Worley is a senior. Basically means they will struggle next year too.
7. Vandy will go winless in the SEC and Mason will last 2 years maximum.
8. TAMU's offense looked very human. Their run defense is still garbage. Slightly improved D, but I see them losing 2-3 of Arkansas, Ole Miss, Bama, Mizzou, LSU. However, as good as Sumlin is it wouldn't surprise me if they run the table either. They're the wildcard.
9. Bama can still run the ball. How good Sims is will be how far they will go. The defense will have learn how to stop the HUNH. Those slow linebackers get gassed quickly. I think they have 3 games to worry about. LSU, TAMU, and Auburn.
10. Auburn is the real deal, but I will be interested to see how their D holds up against power running teams like Bama and LSU.
11. Arkansas is serious about their running game and they're getting VERY good at it. They may not win the west the next few years, but they will spoil quite a few teams' seasons.
12. LSU is the same old LSU under Les. Incredible D, WTF offense. Go ahead and pencil in 2-3 losses and a bowl win so Les gets his "10" win season. However, as the youth on offense grows, I look for 2015-2016 to be big years for LSU.
13. Ole Miss is physical on D. This isn't the Ole Miss we're all used to seeing. They will compete. This is closer to a 2003 Ole Miss type team. I don't see them winning the west though. Competition is too good and Bro Wallace will frick up.
14. MSU has a pretty physical D, but I question their secondary. Prescott is a great signal caller for Mullen's offense. Similar to Ole Miss, they won't win, but they'll compete.

re: Things we learned about the SEC yesterday: (Posted on 9/14/14 at 8:48 am to Jobu93) quote: Offense had a lot of quick strike TDs. I think the Aggie offense looked good. 30% on third down conversions isn't the norm for a sumlin offense.

The offense looked mortal compared to the first two weeks. The key is being able to run the ball and getting them out of rhythm. Obviously, it's still a dangerous offense, but it isn't impossible to stop like they looked early.

Ags had the ball for less than 17 minutes and had 23 first downs. They were 3-8 on third down which means they were moving the ball pretty well when they had it. Which wasn't much. First series was horrible..

Eta. Glad this got brought over for scoreboard.

I get the UF comment totally. However, we are averaging about 600 yards per game I think.

Our offense sucked on third down yesterday. Fix that and I think it doesn't seem as bad.

I get what you're saying, but you gotta put it in context. EMU and 3 OT game. Still vastly improved IMO.

Driskel still makes bad decisions, but he finally got that clutch throw in the 1st OT period.

I think UF has just as good a chance as anyone to win the East. Also, finding Demarcus Robinson was huge. That guy is a future 1st rd pick.

Tyler Murphy looked really good for BC. I know it's against USC, but that goes to show you how bad the UF offensive coaching was last year.

Murphy got hurt @ LSU last year, and never recovered from that.

I'll admit that I'm curious to see how they will stand up against that Arky running game as well.

True. UF did what they needed to do on offense. They found a rhythm late, won in the 4th qtr, and most importantly found a true #1 WR.

I still think Driskel is a potato when it comes to decision making, but he is physically talented enough to win some games for you.

Arkansas is a blast from the 1950s and I mean that in a good way. They are fun to watch in their own right. I appreciate that offense for what it is.

Lol. I"m a tard.

Arky did look very good, but Auburn adjusted well. I think Arky got overwhelmed and had to abandon the run. And we all know their QB can't throw.

Throw Arkansas in there as well, we get them in Fayetteville following a bye week.

I changed it. I was just thinking power run teams. LSU and Bama should be the only teams that can stop Auburn this year. Maaaybe Ole Miss due to thier physical D.

I just see you guys keeping the ball out of TAMU's hands too long for them to win.

Possibly, but Arky's D is nowhere near good enough to stop Bama from pounding it.

Plus, Bama's 3-4 D is built to stop the run and force the pass. I'm not so sure I like that match up.
