1. UGA is the same exact team as last year: Gurley will cramp all game, awful secondary, SLOOOWWW Dline, great offense.

1st and 3rd statement is true. Gurley had 20 carries for 131yds 6.6 ypc. Dline isn't slow. Carolina has one of the best Olines in the conference. See ECU and VT. A&M just had a great game against them. But everything else is spot on.......for now

16. Penn Wagers needs to be locked in a basement somewhere where he can't ruin games.

Good analysis.....I am always amazed when someone displays cognitive thinking skills on this board!

Arkansas is a blast from the 1950s and I mean that in a good way. They are fun to watch in their own right. I appreciate that offense for what it is.

I agree.

Care to tell me who led TOP in all those games?

I'm usually one to say TOP means dick, but against HUNH it is PARAMOUNT.

A&M lead TOP in the first LSU loss.

Mizzou in 2013 won TOP by less than three minutes.

We scored 40+ points in two other losses in 2013.

TOP just isn't a big factor with us.

The biggest takeaway from the Aggie game is how thin we are at LB. All three of our projected starting LBs, going into the season, were missing from the game. Hilliard might miss the season, Washington may be back for Arky, and Mastrogiovanni, our MLB, was held out as a precaution. The dropoff from Mastro particularly is huge. If we lose him, and we have to start another true fish at MLB, we're in trouble.

8. TAMU's offense looked very human. Their run defense is still garbage. Slightly improved D, but I see them losing 2-3 of Arkansas, Ole Miss, Bama, Mizzou, LSU

you seem to be inordinately influenced by single game performances. just yesterday you had A&M as the best team in the country.

not being critical but it is obvious you didn't play sports at an advanced level. every team has ups and downs AND the opposition has a lot to do with it.

history proves (at least to me) that Sumlins offense is fully capable of laying an egg with the right defensive scheme and excellent execution. it also proves to me that he doesn't value defense near as much as offense. his start in the SEC seems to have validated his approach from HIS prospective and many of the aggie fans. they have been victory starved for quite awhile.

until proven otherwise, i'm gonna stick with the uber successful strategies of playing great defense and being able to run the ball and control the clock as the KEYs to winning championships in the sport of FOOTBALL.

many fans, if not most, love offense and tend to judge an entire teams worth on the basis of yards gained and points scored. it's fun, it's exciting..........i'll be damn if it isn't just a version of the ole run and shoot.

in any event, I hope you are back in the LSU camp and have abandoned you're flirtations with the despicable aggies.

The only teams allowing fewer points per game this season so far than A&M are:

1: Stanford - 4.3 ppg
2: LSU - 8.0 ppg
3: Baylor - 9.0 ppg
4t: Ole Miss/Notre Dame - 10.3 ppg
6t: Akron/TCU - 10.5 ppg
8t: Duke/OU - 11.0 ppg
10: Alabama - 11.7 ppg
11t: Penn State/Mississippi State - 12.3 ppg

A&M plays SMU this week. Since SMU has been A&M's best defensive performance by far in 2012 and 2013, and they may quite possibly be the worst team in the FBS, I'm expecting a shutout (certainly no more than 3 points).

If A&M shuts out SMU, that scoring average becomes 10.25 ppg, which jumps A&M up to 4th in the nation in scoring defense.
