You can stay in Tupelo and hit up the casinos. Its a short drive to Oxford.

No, its 50 miles due east.

Take 45 to Meridian, then 59 down to Hattiesburg

Park, Did you get Tunica and Tupelo confused?

Grenada is an option, about 40 minutes South. Batesville is only 20 minutes away, but not sure how many hotels they have now and whether they, too, fill up on game weekends.

It's like 40 miles east. Not bad at all.

Nope, looking at a map.

If you're coming from USM, it seems to me it would make more sense to stay somewhere South rather than going to Tupelo, even if it puts you farther away.

Nope, you did. Tunica has the casinos. Tupelo does not.

If that map is showing you casinos, you need to replace it.

I think you mean TUNICA. There aren't any casinos in Tupelo, but there is plenty of hotels there and its about an hour away from Oxford.

The closest casino to Tupelo are the ones in Tunica wihch are almost 2 hours away. As for the Indian Casinos they are about 2 hours from both Tupelo and even longer from Oxford.

You could look into renting an apartment from a college student. I'm sure there are small ones for fairly cheap that weekend. I'd recommend looking at Batesville today. Come next week, after our home opener, hotels will be flying.

Tupelo is a nice place, I would start there if I were you. While you're there, Mt. Fuji, Lost Pizza Co. and Park Heights are all good eating establishments.
