If only he could've made that one in Pasadena...or kicked the ball out of the endzone.

What is this, AU Family? I was under the impression that any idiot can voice their opinions here as long as it isn't incendiary or just completely off-base.

short kickoffs which was unusual for him killed us. Truth.

No...one guy falling over with a leg injury and a second guy running completely out of his lane killed us. He could have kicked it to the back of the endzone and that still would have been a TD if the returner chose to return it. Watch the return again; at no point in time did Whitfield make anyone miss, nor did he do anything even remotely special in terms of reversing directions...he ran straight through one side of the field. You're not going to defend many kickoffs down two men, with the kicker himself already being a liability.

Failed coverage killed us, not a shorter-than-usual kick. Truth.

Its like saying "that would have never happened if the pitcher only struck out the batter" when the shortstop throws the ball over the first baseman's head and into the stands on a routine groundball. Yeah, in principal it may be "accurate", but it is a shitty-arse distribution of blame in a team environment.

Happy for our guy but I really thought these guys made more than that. Doogie needs to stick to a midrange bmw or land rover. No Bentley in his immediate future. Maybe if he hits a few more of those long ones this will change. Still want to buy a Bentley and park it in my garage:).

He is a rookie kicker. That is pretty damn good for one of the least dangerous positions in the NFL. It goes up considerably if he shows out as a kicker. He is what 22-23? 500K+ per year is pretty nice cabbage.
