Interesting that Penton admits to "falling asleep" on defense before getting his pick. https://greatamericansportsnetwork.com/mizzou-post-game/

lol Aarion, you should check out who some other SEC teams played, and then be the judge of the schedule being bullshix.

Getting sleepy out there early? explains why he got lit up I guess.

I hope Mauk starts hitting his short game and makes me eat this but either he doesn't get it, or the coaching staff, or both don't get it, because outside his knack for hitting the streaking endzone route he looks lost.

Can't listen to it where I am right now, but I did hear Penton talk about this a bit. Admitted he got caught by surprise with how much they threw the ball. Had figured their game plan would be to run, run and run some more with their RB. Said also in game planning for the starting QB, he tended to throw a more direct ball. That the new QB that came in tended to throw to the back shoulder more. I think add that to the fact that their receivers just seemed to tower over our DB's and I think that accounts for some of the issues defending the pass. Lesson: Don't take anyone lightly. Beyond that, can't teach height.
