The Louisville-Miami game tomorrow is going to be fun.

I shouldn't be this excited over watching our players making the proper adjustments when the other team puts players in motion.

That's the difference between a DC that knows how to teach guys to improve and a DC that only knows to yell and scream at guys to get better.

quote:

Pruitt wasn’t made available after the game, but his players made up for his absence by mentioning his name countless times.

quote:

But Georgia’s defense made one thing clear Saturday: They don’t care who is on the field or where they are playing. Or, to take Swann’s words, “In Pruitt they trust.”

quote:

“That was big because that crushes an offense,” Jenkins said. “Three three-and-outs in a row right at the half. That’s just demoralizing.”

So that was kind of weird seeing defensive adjustments yesterday. I forgot teams did that.

I'm just unbelievably pumped about all of yesterday's developments. It couldn't have been more encouraging defensively

Carter in that pic looks like hes gonna run back onto the field and eat someones children if they got in the way....love the way the guys played, gang tackles, swarming to the ball, intensity, constant go motor and forgetting the last play and moving on to the next. Its a good day to be a dawg.

That was the most physical game our D has played since like 2004. It was amazing.

Honestly, in the first half it looked like the same old bad pass defense and to make matters worse we weren't getting any pressure on the QB. Stoudt was making some damn good long passes and I was thinking it was going to be a long game for our dawgs.

But then something incredible happened. Freshmen defenders started hitting with a vengeance breaking up passes and a walk-on made an amazing/athletic interception. Then in the 2nd half we seemed to make smart adjustments, gained confidence, played even stronger and dominated at the end of the game. It was an impressive performance to say the least.

The second half was not just about adjustments, it was also about conditioning and confidence. Less tired and balls out, we dominated the Clempson O line.

Now if we can just get our DBs to find the ball instead of defending with the back of their heads.

We completely outmanned them in the second half in all aspects of the game.

24-0 and held them to 15 yards of offense.....uhh, I'd say that is pretty much the best you could ever ask for...

We got burned a couple of times. But even in the first, we were still right there to make a play most of the time. If our guys would turn their heads around..

Even in the first half I could see a big difference in our secondary. Mauger executed the pass breakup perfectly when he came from the back and placed his helmet on the ball. We had two or three other beautiful, textbook deflections in that first half. We haven't seen a break on the ball, diving interception like Davis had in many years. He came from about 5 yards.

Even the longer passes that they hit we had guys running with them. The one down the sideline had our guy in good position but his back was to the ball. That WR made a good catch over our DBS head. The one that Watson threw was just a perfect pass right by the ear hole of our LB. Hell of a pass. Looked like a Murray throw. That was before we started bringing pressure so it is expected that a QB who is "on" with no pressure will make noise. But even with that, there was not one time where they had WRs just running wide open downfield with no defender within 5 yards. That happened on the regular the last 2 years.

I definitely saw a difference in the secondary but was just perplexed about the lack of pressure the first half. Pruitt obviously figured out how to get that pressure in the second half and it benefited the secondary greatly.
