Wow I have been thinking this was Phillip Sims this whole time. (BAMA QB)

Finally looked up some info on Blake Sims, this is a totally different person 
. A former RB converted to QB, and beat out Coker?? Doesnt size up to well for BAMA.
But yeah ive been thinking it was Philip Sims this whole time, the guy who almost beat out AJ back in the day.
I am sure I am not the only one who has made this mistake.

Blake was recruited as an athlete. Played rb, wr, and qb at some point while being at Alabama. We will win with whoever plays Qb.

He hasn't beaten anyone. Sims was always going to start the opener. The team loves him, you can't just give the job to someone else without giving Sims a chance to show you what he can do in a game.

He started out at QB. He was in the same class as Phillip Sims. Moved to RB as a redshirt freshman and the back to QB. He's hardly a "converted RB".

Is it? As I've said many times, the notion that the Bama fans here were the ones hyping him is false. I'm sure Tidefans hyped Coker like people seem to think, but those of us here only talked about potential with Coker. Fact is even though I think he'll eventually start, I'd be completely shocked if he started Saturday. Saban wouldn't do Sims that way.

Saban took a player back who robbed and beat a student on campus. I don't think he's got a moral high ground. If Sims starts it's because Coker isn't what they hoped he was, not to be fair.

I like how the excuse for Coker is " oh well the team loves sims and would rather lose with him than win with an actual qb like Coker because the live sims so much"
