A couple questions about banning.

I just got allowed back on the board (thank you 
) from my first and only (probably) disciplining. I know what I did was stupid, and deserved to be given a time out. But all I got was a "We're reviewing your posts" message and never an actual statement of banning. Is this SOP? Is the message different if it's a ban of a longer length?
It's really a confusing experience for the first time. Aren't there easier ways to let people know what's going on? Maybe a fixed time period message instead of an arbitrary limbo missive? "You are banned for a week/a couple days/a month or so?" And if you do something stupid on one board is it really necessary to be banned from all the boards? If someone gets heated in an argument on the main board and does something stupid, but has been less of an arse on other boards, maybe just a ban from that one board?
I'm not talking about repeat offenders who are making banning the end goal. Those guys are chodes who deserve very little mercy. I'm talking about the people who make poor decisions and really just need a time out.

That happened to me last winter. I was banned for a couple months. My PM said "we are reviewing your posts for quality purposes".
Not sure what I did was ban worthy leading up to it. I know I was RAd a bunch by LSU posters.

All I know is that you got so mad you started making fun of 12 kids who died in an accident. That is really shitty and you deserve to be banned for stuff like that.

So you start a troll thread in hopes of developing a rivalry. Then an SC fan comes in and posts something that might very well aid in the rivalry you want to develop, but it's "too much" and you want him banned.

Pretty sure I said I agreed that I deserved a ban. And, again, I wasn't making fun of the tragedy. I was taking a shot at your vehement reaction to any disrespect for that incident while in the very same thread dismissing others feelings about something they hold dear. But that's all beside the point of this thread...

I don't know. Being banned with a PM sucks too. That fricking message just taunts you every time you log in.

You need a network of alters in place and use them regularly. That way it isnt obvious when your alter picks up where you left off.

Yes. SOP. I just returned after 8 months of having my posts reviewed. Only reason I knew what was going on was because I knew the twitter handle of some of my fellow barners.
