Mississippi State OL Damien Robinson is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL.

He was the starting right tackle.

Never good news. Hope he recovers well and gets back on the field 100%.

sorry to hear that, lots of teams, including SC, are getting hit with injuries in fall camp.

No he wasn't.

He was listed as a co-starter on our initial fall roster -- something we do pretty regularly for seniors in giving them every opportunity to earn starting spots. He had been with the 2's/3's for us in camp for the past week or so after being passed by Justin Senior and supposedly by Rufus Warren as well.

Robinson is by all accounts a good dude. But he was never going to be a starter in the SEC. Doesn't have the feet for it. With Malone still at guard, Robinson was our 4th best tackle IMO, and had Malone kicked out, he would have been our 5th best -- and that's assuming that he was still better than Warren. Best of luck to him in the future.

This injury doesn't effect our front line much -- but it makes our margin for error on the OL much thinner...

He was competing for the spot but he didn't have the job.

Yeah it sucks to lose depth but he was the 2nd string guy.

Do you have a heart? And you realize he'll be back next year, right?

But seriously, best wishes to the kid. Hope he recovers quickly.

I hate to see pre-season injuries.

First - I said nothing out of line.

Second - Why would he come back next year?

Ever since my obviously sarcastic "Dak is nothing more than a lighter-skinned Chris Relf" thread about 20 days ago, a lot of y'all have been argumentative, especially when I used the term "leghumper."

I guess it's just the end of a long offseason coming to a close.

Nah, just the way you threw him under the bus as not being a good player to defend your "I need the message boards to think MSU is good" ego.

Will he not be able to receive a med-redshirt?

No kidding. We get it engie, he had no chance of playing.
Wish the kid the best in his recovery. Sucks for him.

Maybe he meant nothing by it, but it sure came off that way.

He could be the water boy and the first things that should be said are that we hope he has a full and speedy recovery. These are just kids. I could care less about the depth chart, but whatever .
