Dont take this the wrong way, as i mean this as a compliment, but usc and cu have traded places as far as delusional fans. I almost think of sc fanbase as normal now. Alot of insults i would hurl at sc fans in the past would no longer apply.
But would apply to clem.
Make sense?

You only think this now because UGA plays SC every year and doesn't play Clemson so much anymore. If you had to play them and share a state with them every year you would've never thought that about us.

It does make sense because roles have reversed basically.
Clemson reminds me very much of the way we used to be.
But Clemson fans have always been somewhat delusional in terms of how great they perceive their program to be.
UGA and CU were sort of kindred spirits for a couple of years in 80 and 81 and the rivalry was built upon that. The proximity led the two schools to be somewhat rivals ... but historically UGA has an almost equally as dominating winning percentage against Clemson as it does SCAR. Something like 69% against Clemson and 72% against SCAR.
Ironically, over the last 14 meetings for both teams, UGA is 8-5-1 over Clemson and 8-6 over SCAR. I went back to 2000 for UGA-SCAR and 1981 for UGA-CU ... and therein lies the big difference in modern perceptions of both SC programs.
I gotta admit though - I'm not sure why any UGA fan would feel empowered or superior enough, although I know you all do feel that way, as to believe you are in a position to pass a "delusional" judgement on any other program ... although it definitely does apply to Clemson because they are, in fact and always have been, a delusional fan base as a whole.

Wait 30 days... there will be Fire Richt talk and Fire Bobo talk and Fire Pruitt talk.
You don't get that shite from Clemson or SC. They are happy being on the cusp.
Georgia fans are frustrated being on the cusp.
Make sense?

Eh, don't be so sure, Sparky. We don't want to go back to wandering in the desert as we used to, but there are a great number of us who are getting frustrated at not having the SEC/BCS hardware recently. It's gotten very old being the best team in the East for four seasons and sitting at home due to some colossal frickups the last three years.
Last year in particular stung.

No college football program would fire Spurrier.

Only when you consider the fact that Spurrier has not lost control of his program.
