Nick Saban invited Japan's semi-pro national championship football team, the Obic Seagulls to view Wednesday night's practice and tour UA's football facilities. The Seagulls were also joined by the Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League (APDFL) Blazers.

Both teams are from Narashino, Japan, and will be playing in an exhibition football game at Central High School's football stadium on Thursday.

They choose Nick so they could have a nice face to face meeting with the coach. He was the only coach in USA short enough.

I think that is Tuscaloosa's sister city in Japan. Or I could be making that up.
