WDE: Garrett, Obioha
SDE: Hall, Obioha
DT: Manning, Arnold, Williams
NT: Henderson, Walker
WLB: Hilliard, Sanders, Wade
MLB: Mastrogiovanni, Chevis
SAM: Alaka, Washington
CB: Everett, Sezer, Ellis
CB: Harris, Harvey
FS: Evans, Raven, Wilson
SS: Matthews, Burns

I don't feel terrible about the line and if Evans makes it in I feel better about the depth at safety. I think we start 3 true freshman before it's all said and done. What do y'all think?

I think we won't be injury free, so it will only get worse. Listing this out will just be depressing.

There is a lot to be concerned about.
Overall I think we are more talented, particularly on the DL, but wow that is a lot of inexperience.

Snyder has to be shitting bricks knowing what he has going into Columbia MO.

In some encouraging news, I talked to Mastro and he had nothing but good things to say about A.J. Hilliard. Said he has a similar "mean streak" as Claiborne.

It's concerning, but in my view a question mark at a position is better than a known certainty when that known certainty is just a terrible option.

Bottom line is we could be terrible, but we really don't know. I like the talent we have on the line and I truly believe a good defensive line can make up for a complete lack of depth or talent in the secondary. Pressure is the most important thing.

Having Garrett and Hall on the field at the same time with Obioha backing them up is a pretty good situation in my opinion. I think they could both cover the outside run effectively and get good pressure on the quarterback. The run-stop ability on the outside will allow us to blitz linebackers up the middle and cause more pressure or fade back and help protect the pass. The QB-pressure will help take the burden off the secondary and the fact that we really only have one for sure shutdown corner.

Bottom line is I think Hall and Garrett can make the entire defensive unit as a whole better.
