Remember, it's only funny until it happens to you ...

Release US (excellent 10 min video - MASH HERE)

quote:

The increase in police brutality in this country is a frightening reality. In the last decade alone the number of people murdered by police has reached 5,000. The number of soldiers killed since the inception of the Iraq war, 4489.

What went wrong? In the 19070’s SWAT teams were estimated to be used just a few hundred times per year, now we are looking at over 40,000 military style “knock and announce” police raids a year.

The police presence in this country is being turned into a military with a clearly defined enemy, anyone who questions the establishment.

If we look at the most recent numbers of non-military US citizens killed by terrorism worldwide, that number is 17. You have a better chance of being killed by a bee sting, or a home repair accident than you do a terrorist. And you are 29 times more likely to be murdered by a cop than a terrorist!

A hard hitting mini film by film maker Charles Shaw, properly titled RELEASE US, highlights the riveting and horrid reality of America’s thin blue line.

From the film:

500 innocent Americans are murdered by police every year (USDOJ). 5,000 since 9/11, equal to the number of US soldiers lost in Iraq.

In 1994 the US Government passed a law authorizing the Pentagon to donate surplus Cold War era military equipment to local police departments.

In the 20 years since, weaponry designed for use on a foreign battlefield, has been handed over for use on American streets…against American citizens.

The “War on Drugs” and the “War on Terror” replaced the Cold War with billions in funding and dozens of laws geared towards this new “war” against its own citizens.

This militarization of the police force has created what is being called an “epidemic of police brutality” sweeping the nation.

no surprise here, cops are mostly either scum bugs or retarded. It is a very sad state of affairs when good smart cops are the minority.

The average member of the Columbia Police Department is a retard I wouldn't trust with a BB gun.

This is fricking stupid.

Is there most likely a problem? Yes.
Is it nearly as bad as they want you to believe at the "free thought project"? No.

Did you watch that fricking video? Half of them were swinging at the cops before the cops started swinging at them. At the end they literally resort to clips in Brazil. Like who gives a frick.

Sensationalist article.

The truth is probably somewhere inbetween. For every shitty cop there's probably a Momma out there with a "my baby did nothin' wrong!!1" claiming the cops killed her kid unjustly.

I hate what the police have become in this country as much as anyone, but this is an exaggeration. If someone is shooting at law enforcement, it's not "murder" (usually) for the police to shoot them. Sometimes it's still murder, but those are pretty rare.

Having said that, FTP.

Hey, I'm all for the Cops curb-stomping everyone in sight. I live in the country, remotely, with lots of guns, dogs, land mines, anti-aircraft weaponry ... hell, screw every body that would live in the city where almost all of this happens. Screw anybody that deals drugs or thinks they are bad enough to have showdowns with cops in the face over overwhelming odds.

This country is getting exactly what it deserves right now. shite started in the 60s and it's all gone downhill from there.

Now, with regard to the IRS and DNR and Postal Services militarizing ... I have a problem with that. But local cops, LEOs, ... hell yes, let them do what they deem necessary. If you don't like it then sue them or call the fricks over at the ACLU or move or something. The Feds are the problem.

And yes, I watched the entire video before I posted it ... I posted it as provocative subject matter so keep your panties on Alice.

One thing I do not like ... randomly shooting dogs. If one ever shot one of my dogs there would be a problem. I abide by the law ... so they'd better have their shite together if they ever decided to make the mistake of coming at this compound for whatever reason.

And, I have a major problem with serving no-knock warrants. Too many mistakes being made these days.

i'd be willing to bet a good portion of the offenders come from rural counties/towns, where there is almost no real hiring process or training for cops. these departments get the same grants as everyone else with no clue on how to do real police work. some of the people my age that are being hired by LE agencies are the type of people who struggled to maintain a 2.0 in high school and can be classified as fricking retarded.

I find that most people that have issues with the police, have a history of breaking the law.

Go figure.

I find that most people who blindly support police are usually hypocrites who champion small government on other issues.
