The Feds are the problem.

They went lax on the height requirements and it all went downhill from there.

FWIW, I don't have issue with cops as a whole. It's shitty to blanket them as such even if it seems they're compromising their profession by lowering entrance standards to compensate for the lack of interest in the position in some areas.

Now, with regard to the IRS and DNR and Postal Services militarizing ... I have a problem with that. But local cops, LEOs, ... hell yes, let them do what they deem necessary.

And, I have a major problem with serving no-knock warrants. Too many mistakes being made these days.

I don't think you fully understand what a militarized police force is.

And if there are any departments that aren't adequately trained or evolved enough to tear arse around in MRAPS and kick doors down, it's your local sheriffs office.

As a former police officer, there are definitely bad shoots that exist and the officers involved in bad shoots deserve proper punishment.

However, this article (and the video it is premised on) is sensationalist and vapid.

The list of names that runs at the end of the video includes people who died while:

Pointing a stolen gun at police

Accidentally shooting themselves while involved in a shootout with police

Pulling a gun on police while wanted for burglary and weapons charges

Pointing a gun at an officer who asks for his name

Advancing on police officers with an axe held over his head

Threatening his brother with a butcher knife while drunk and high on meth

Pointing a gun at two officers who attempted to stop him

Approaching an officer while holding a large kitchen knife and a Bible

Having a heart attack while drunkely resisting arrest

Swinging a knife at police officers

To further compound this, the video adds Trayvon Martin, who wasn't shot by a police officer at all.

Silliness:

The Law of Large Numbers.

The U.S. has about 330 MILLION residents. It takes a very small percentage to add up to a large number.

Approximately 1800 deaths per year are attributable to Food Poison.

Thus, in that same 10 years, approximately 18,000 people died due to shitty (pun intended) food.
