TeMarcus Blanton suffered hip injury and had surgery for it. No timetable on when he may or may not return.

Tipoff in 15, remember you can watch this on SECN+ if you're not here today. Just got in, not a bad crowd.

Online, not all tv providers have it yet. It's basically espn3 but for the SECN.
9-2 SC after first tv timeout.
16-7 SC after second tv TO.
Benedict takes a TO 31-11 SC.
31-13 after 3rd TV TO.
39-22 SC, 3:35 left in the 1st.

Crowds filled in really nicely, the whole bottoms filled up. I'd say we're in the 9-10K range.

Big Chat with the slam! 49-22, 2:18 left in 1st.
55-24 at the half. Ty hobbling off the court as we go to a break. Pretty sure it's cramps, cuz he was trying to stretch after going down.

I hope that reflects more that we're excited for the season, showing up in good numbers in a preseason game, and less about Benedict alum going to the game.

Benedict brought a couple thousand. 66-28 with 15:06 left.
73-38 with 11:55 left.

Good exhibition and good crowd today. USC doesn't start it's season until Nov. 14th....would be good to have at least another exhibition game until then, but this one was it I guess....
We're dealing with some injuries: everyone knows about Sheppard's ACL and Blanton's leg injury. Steele has had off-season surgery and didn't play tonight, but it expected to be ready to play by the 14th. McKie has a concussion (he should be OK by the 14th), and walk-on Austin Constable was on crutches today, and didn't play.
Johnson led the team with 23 points, and added 6 assists and 6 rebounds.
Carrera led the team with 15 boards to go with 5 points.
Notice led the team with 9 assists and almost had a double-double with 10 points scored as well.
Henry stayed out of foul trouble and scored 15 pts to go with 7 rebounds.
Thornwell added 14 pts and 3 boards.
Chatkevicius had a double-double with 10 pts and 12 rebounds.
Kacinas had a solid game as well with 8 pts and 7 rebs.
Stroman was the lone freshman that played, and he chipped in 5 pts and 3 assists.
The Gamecocks out-rebounded Benedict 61-31, but they were expected to. We also out-turnovered them as well 15-13. Turnovers will continue to be a big issue for our team going forward...

Well that sucks for us regarding Blanton....

Holy cow that blows, so only 1 player from our 2014 Class will even play this year. 2 Injured & the other went to prep school instead. Frank cannot buy a break, there goes some nice depth in Blanton.
Towards the game:
Ty Johnson was electric today in the first half, they kept it easy on him after he cramped but if we want to be good, he needs to stay healthy and contribute like he did today.
The frontcourt played especially well imo, interested to see how they will do in the regular season b/c those guys are going to have to get rebounds & score.
Agreed and that stood out to me as well. Although I want to say maybe 5 of those were regarding Stroman, just growing pains with a true freshman.
All in all I was happy to see how we played, we need to get healthy before the season begins, more depth the better.
