Could Frank Martin's team be the group that settles in behind Kentucky in the SEC? The Gamecocks have won seven in a row.

SCOUTING FLORIDA
The Gators enter conference play having lost their last two games, most recently suffering a 63-59 loss at home to UCONN. Florida holds a record of 7-6 and their RPI stands at 144. Junior guard Michael Frazier II leads the squad in scoring with 14.1 points per game, and junior forward Dorian Finney-Smith is just behind at 13.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per outing. The Gators have played a tough non-conference schedule, with games against Miami (Fla.), Georgetown, North Carolina, road contests at Kansas and Florida State and last Saturday's game vs. the Huskies. Gator opponents are posting just 56.8 points per game, which ranks 17th nationally, and UF's 8.2 steals per game rank 46th. The Gators are led by head coach Billy Donovan in his 19th season in Gainesville.

Sounds like we didn't handle the success from the Iowa St. Win. CFM just ripped on how awful practice was the last 2 days and that he expected it.

Next step for this team is learning to handle success and mature.

Think it's obvious after these last 3 games that we're still a year away. We still need some bigs badly, can't wait for Sheppard to get into the fold more often this year & Silva coming in next year.

Not a great start down 10 going into the last TV TO in the 1st half.

It depends on which team shows up. If it's the team that played last week or in the Charleston tourney we'll get waxed. If it's the team that went on a 7 game winning streak over a 2-3 week period I give us a really good shot to win at home.

Well we won 68-66. A nail-biter: we started out horrendous shooting 0-6 and falling behind 9-0, and played poorly down the stretch allowing Bama to whittle away at a dbl-digit lead we built up during most of the 2nd half. But we played solid enough defense at the end to prevent Bama from taking a quality shot, and escaped with our first conference victory.

We next go on the road to Auburn this Sat., who still have a road game of their own to play Thursday at Florida, so we'll have the edge of rest and formulating a game-plan while the Tigers get one single off-day to recuperate from the Gators. Hopefully that edge will be enough, and the win over Bama gives our team some confidence and momentum going forward....

Huge win for us, now if we can go win on the road at Auburn it'd be some great momentum.

Is it just me, or does the SEC seem tougher this year, deeper even, than in past years?

Definitely seems tougher, us included. I think that we would have lost a game like this in the past two years, though. Showed some signs of good play, then signs of terrible offensive stagnancy (if that's even a word).

Something has to give for Thornwell. I have watched the kid play since he was 12, and he looks like a shell of his former self. You can tell that his confidence is shaken, and he needs to snap out of it.

Hurts that we couldn't pull out the W tonight, I figured it would be a toss up since it was at Auburn and considering how well they play in their building. Gotta bounce back Tuesday night, must-win game against UT at home imo.

Funny thing about tonight is that our big 3 (Ty, Thornwell, Notice) all scored in double digits, along with Chats double double. So our best guys played pretty well, but Henry was absolutely non-existent tonight. And we couldn't get to the FT line and when we did we missed a bunch. Little things will cost ha, especially on the road.

It appears that we do everything well but score.
