It's a little bit redneck but I'm fine with it as long as it's not abused.

I think it takes away a huge tactical advantage. If I were looking to shoot up a Starbucks the open carry guy would get the first shot while he's ordering his latte.

*disclaimer: I'm not looking to shoot up a Starbucks.

Its fine. Unfortunately, there are idiots in every facet of life, as pictured. As with all things though...they shouldnt affect others rights to carry responsibly. Those should just be called ignorant and stupid and be made to feel that way.

Easy to say from the comfort of your couch.

In real life, someone looking to shoot up a Starbucks (and survive) would quietly walk away if he saw someone else packing.

I don't really have an opinion.

I wouldn't personally. I'd rather a criminal not know whether I'm packing or not. If they know where my gun is, they could possibly disarm me before I even saw them.

You don't know that, and yes the gent with the exposed weapon would be shot first if it was carried out. I'd rather my new unknown enemy not be able to pick me out that easy.

I'm not on my couch. Where is your god now?

I don't have a problem with open carry but I believe it's a huge tactical disadvantage. It may deter crime. It's certainly a right. But, the element of surprise is off of the table. If you don't think that's a disadvantage then open carry away my friend.

Have no issue with it either way. Seems like another way to make men with small packages feel bigger, since the big tire thing is sort of the commonplace indicator now.

It is a clear sign of an attention whore and a douche. I wouldn't let them in my business. Think of how uncomfortable that make someone working at a retail store or gas station. You don't know if the person is going to hold you up, or if they are just an a-hole with a small penis.

Get a permit and quit giving responsible gun owners a bad rep.

I dislike it immensly. I own several guns but these guys are just being a-holes for the sake of it.

I will give the movement that there has been literally no violence associated with them. Stupidity, sure but they haven't hurt a soul thus far.

I live in the same town as the leader of the open movement here in TX (CJ Grisham) and he's a prick.

Yeah if I was a criminal, I'd totally go into the store open carry. That would be retarded. You would draw attention to yourself before you even got to the store. I can understand your point of view, but this is stupid reasoning.

Because we're a nation of guns, I think people should be armed. To me it's an obligation under the circumstances of our culture.

Open carry or concealed, I don't care, but more people should be carrying.

It is really just assholes doing it to get attention and a reaction. The majority of the people I have seen doing it look like that fat arse in the picture.

Exactly. It's not well adjusted normal people doing this. It's rejects.

Pretty much. Used to open carry during hunting season, because it was usually just a quick in and out at a conveinance store, and it was a sidearm. Nobody thinks much about that. Going shopping and to dinner with open carry, as others have said, is just tactical stupidity.

Concealed is the way to go and you shouldn't have to pay for a permit to do so. I'll go so far as to say, felons should have their rights restored after they've paid their debt to society.

I disagree with all of this. I actually feel that most states don't require enough training. Violent felons should NEVER carry again.
