When is this going to turn into championships? Why can't Arkansas be the Oregon of the midwest?

Coaching. They were pretty close with Petrino. Jury is still out on BB. I don't think he's the man for the job, but he hasn't had his fair chance yet.

However going winless in the SEC with those facilities is inexcusable.

I think that's a Bert hologram in the last pic. ETA: oh there's half people in each pic never mind.

I don't understand why they're not more aware of what they had with Petrino. The guy is like the world champion of play calling. He really is that good. They want to lambast him for not recruiting well, but neither is Bert. They're Arkansas. No home-grown talent in a small state surrounded by states with talent that are dominated by in-state recruiting powerhouses. Their strategy should be to find a coach who just coaches the daylights out of everyone else around... like Petrino.

Petrino had one really solid class. That was due to in state talent. Petrino recruited skill players, but still not at an elite level. Bert is recruiting from the inside out, having landed some of the nations best offensive linemen in his two classes so far. He also landed, according to 247, the best available RB in 2013.

Arkansas lacks in state talent, but in the four years we have own or shared the West title, our roster has been littered with many in state players.

This year alone, we will likely sign 7-8 guys in state. So far, Arkansas has 6 guys committed from in state, with 3 of those being 4 stars according to 247.

This year is probably the deepest talent pool Arkansas has seen in possibly, ever. There is a top 44 on 247 with all of those guys holding D1 offers. Not all big name schools, but that's a ton of athletes compared to what Arkansas usually churns out. The top 15 are all major college worthy.
