Do you have friends who are below your level of education?

I was thinking about this today. Day to day, I rarely interact with people who don't have at least a bachelor's degree. Everyone in my immediate family has at least a bachelor's degree. I have a few friends who are smart people with some college but no degree. The overwhelming majority of my friends have at least a bachelor's degree.

At some point in my life I pretty much stopped interacting with people who don't have at least a partial college education.

Yes.

One of the smartest, well rounded guys I know never went to college.

The majority of my friends are college educated, but I also have some really good friends who never finished school.

My best friend has a couple of years of school but no degree, but he is the exception in my circle by far.

One of my best friends played JUCO baseball for two years. He still wasn't sure what he wanted to do in school when baseball was over, so he married an engineer.

ETA: He may be the smartest of my friends.

I have plenty of friends both above and below my education level.

That's probably the last thing I even think about when interacting with folks I know, though.

dumbest thing ever. If they are good loyal friends and know how to have a good and has their head on straight time why would I care about how much college they got or any at all.

I know you're probably just being a fricktard to get a rise out of people though.

Same here. And I can definitely say there are some highly educated "idiots" out there that I'd put some of my non-educated friends up against. Book smarts isn't everything.

Not sure why anyone would even consider it. I don't think I am aware of the educational status of half the people I know.

Sounds like a shitty thing to do. No way I could stop kicking it with my grandparents.

I have friends at all levels ranging from local blue collar guys to executives. I dont engage in the same conversations with all of them, but generally not a helluva difference on a human level.

One thing I do love about SEC sports is that is one thing you can pretty much find common ground with anyone around where I live.

Same here. I really had to think about whose educational status I even knew, tbh

If I can have a good conversation with you, that's all I really care about.

Woah there...

I'm not saying its something I deliberately do, or that I think of a person's education level before being their friend.

I'm just saying I noticed that I don't really have any friends anymore without a college education. Not by conscious choice. That's why it struck me because it kind of just happened without me noticing.

Well all my grandparents have been dead for over ten years.

You're misunderstanding. I'm not saying I cut people out of my life deliberately based on their educational pedigree. It just happened over time by itself. And today I realized it and it struck me as weird that I don't know or talk to many people without a degree.
