Even though most of you live in the most poverty stricken States in the Union, you still support your football teams and your coach's massive salaries.

With that kind of dedication, there's no way another conference will ever surpass the SEC.

School State Poverty Rate
OMs 50th
MSU 50th
LSU 49th
Ala 47th
Aub 47th
aTm 46th
Ark 45th
Usc 41st
UTk 40th
Van 40th
UKy 39th
UG- 37th
MUz 25th
FLa 19th

School Coach Salary in SEC
OMs 7th highest
MSU 13th - smart
LSU 4th highest hmmmm
Ala 1st - the highest
Aub 3rd highest
aTm 2nd highest
Ark 10th
Usc 5th highest
UTk 11th
Van 8th
UKy 14th
UG- 6th
MUz 12th
FLa 9th

2013 Salary numbers - probably some changes for 2014

poverty numbers from the US Census Bureau

I had a heckuva time formatting this. Tables aren't handled well here it seems. Oh well.

No, it's just that Southern born and bred African-Americans can't stand living around yankees.

Just to clarify, there's only a small % of counties in AL that are really poor, i.e. Black Belt region. The burbs of Birmingham and Huntsville, for example, rank nationally in education, etc. The magnet school in Jeff Co has ranked in the top 5 High Schools in the US.

They play good football and baseball in the SE U.S.
Basketball and Hockey not so much.

Seems weather related to me.

Not at all.....I'm hedging my bets: born in Mizzou, live in FLA.
