So this map is saying that Texas A&M, for instance, employs more people than the US Gov(Military) in texas? I dont believe it

That's largest State employers. Largest private employer in Mississippi is Baptist Health Systems followed by Nissan.

I'm not even going to look at the map, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say outside of a few select states where a major (Fortune 10) company has nearly all of their office operations, it will be universities, hospital systems, and military bases.

I'm guessing its the largest single location employer, which is why it mentions specific Air Force bases and not the DoD.

FedEx has more employees than Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. FedEx employs 30k+ just in the state of tennessee. Vandy employs 17k. Walmart actually employs the most, go figure

Lets take Ft. Hood as an example. I believe they have over 40k there. Does A&M employ more than 40k

I'm sure its including the entire university system which is gigantic. There are like 10 universities in the system.

If they consider the supply chain to Wal-Mart as working for Wal-Mart, then that would be true of a lot of states/Countries other than Arkansas...

I think we have 40k easy.
according to an A&M report in '12, you have less than 7k faculty and 15k staff on all campuses

Wal-Mart is a state employer? MGM Grand is a state employer?

Folks should really stop shopping at Walmart.
