If they can start hitting 3s and foul shots they will be solid

Big home game this Saturday. Good opportunity to build on tonights win and get our 1st quality win of the season. There should be a decent crowd this weekend. (At least I hope). Can't wait!

Thornton is slowly becoming a dominant post player. Fox seems to get the most out of his guys when they eventually learn their role and system. If UGA continues to get contributions from the post like they did last night, this team will do very well.

Georgia guard Kenny Gaines (shoulder sprain) practiced Thursday and is expected to play in Sunday night's home game against Seton Hall, according to Bulldogs coach Mark Fox.
quote:

"I would say I think he'll play," Fox said Thursday. "We were able to get him partially back in practice. It's been a slow recovery. He couldn't shoot a ball for nine days. It's been a more significant injury than we thought."

Gaines was initially hurt during Georgia's previous game against Colorado. He dived for a loose ball and had an opposing player land on top of him, causing him to exit the game in obvious pain. An MRI revealed only a sprain in Gaines' right shoulder. That is his shooting arm, but Fox did say that Gaines has full range of motion back shooting now.

Ugh, poor Kenny. He's been my favorite player with Thornton for awhile but he's having a rough year.

K State lost to Texas Southern today, so there is no reason we can't go into Manhattan and come away with a victory.

KSU will be desperate Wednesday after blowing a 4 point lead with 4 seconds to play last night. That will be a big road test in a difficult environment. Hope we are fresh after last nights crazy game.

Also talked to Turtle Jackson when I was in town last weekend for the Seton Hall game. I can't wait for his career to start. He is really excited and eager to get going too. Has a strong relationship with Kenny Gaines and several other players on the team as well. Think he will have a great career in Athens.

I have nightmares about facing Bruce Pearl on the road to wrap up conference play when we'll likely be on the bubble.

Understand where you're coming from, Menlo. I would have rather played Auburn both times early in the year, because obviously a good coach like Pearl will have them improving each week.

With that said, I think we will be in solid shape by the final SEC game. Obviously we want to win them all, and even if we are doing well seeding matters, but I think we will be sitting at 19-10 when we head over to Auburn for our last regular season game.

Even with a loss to them we'd go dancing in that scenario. I'm getting way ahead of things though. Tough Ole Miss squad coming here Tuesday. Need to protect home court.

I don't like the match ups against their guards. Gonna be tough. You can't really zone them too much either because they shoot the ball really well. This game will be extremely difficult and I haven't quite made my mind up if we're even going to win. With it being at home, we always have a shot. Gotta find a way.
