It's about time. Haven't heard about any Bourbon shootings recently.

One of these days, people will realize there are other places that you can have just as much fun as NOLA without the threat of getting shot at. Hit them in their wallets, and maybe they'll start giving a frick and getting the trash locked up, where it belongs.

or you could just avoid bourbon street, especially at 2:45 am. If you want to be downtown that late, the casino or back towards warehouse district are much better options.

Exactly. Shootings and violence are rare downtown but always seem to happen very late night on Bourbob/near Bourbon.

Warehouse District to late night. Hell south of Bourbon in the quarter is fine. Uptown has options. Typical overreaction from out of towners scared of NOLA black people.

you just need to keep your wits about you, which can be difficult for the people who roll in from out of town.

I used to make the walk from the quarter to the hi ho lounge a decent bit. Probably the most idiotic thing i did on a regular basis.

There have been problems on Bourbon Street and downtown NOLA for two-hundred years. It's historical fact.

I was there in the 70s when trumpeter Al Hirt was hit in the lip by a brick bat thrown from the crowd during the Mardi Gras parade. LEOs cracked down hard for a couple of decades afterwards but it appears things may be regressing.

I've still not seen anything on the news about this latest shooting.

REBEL5 AC and I were on Bourbon last night.

We were at Pat O's when it happened. Obviously, I survived.
