Anyone else think scoring in the SEC will revert back to the mean this fall?

Lots of wailing about the Big 12-ification of the SEC last year, but I really think a lot of that had to do with a special group of players on offense, moreso than the systems.

No Manziel, no Murray, no McCarron, etc. After watching LSU and Georgia struggle to move the ball against average Big Ten teams on New Year's Day, I can't help but think we're in for a diet of dimwitted journalists talking about the return of SEC defensive strength this fall, and Tony Barnhart getting to say that "there are some GROWN MEN playing this game." Auburn might be an exception, but they're the marked man in 2014.

In the West I can promise you Auburn, OM, MSU and TAMU will all continue to put up points thanks to their systems and/or returning talent.

Bama, LSU, UGA, and possibly SCe will dip in ppg. ATM, OM, MSU, and AU will all still score a lot.

A) LSU had Anthony Jennings making his first-career start at QB; B) I think Iowa was actually supposed to be pretty good on defense anyway. Jeremy Hill also had a career-best 216 yards rushing against Iowa that game.

No. Get ready for it. Offense has finally hit the SEC. Mizzu and TAMU both with wide open spread offenses, Malzahn back with his spread offense, Butch with his spread (and now he has the playmakers for it). Ole Miss runs the spread, UF is now back to the spread (aerial flavor this time), UGA pass heavy, LSU just got Cam who will run the deep passing offense, Bama is trying to run some uptempo. Once Arky gets a decent QB, that offense will soar.

SEC will finally be balanced.
