They sound like the South during the Civil War. ... If they don't get their way, they're going to secede and start their own country. ... I think college football is in real trouble. ... They're trying to go the other way and create an even wider gap between the haves and have-nots," O'Leary told the Sentinel of the Power Five and the SEC's threats. "I think some of these schools have forgotten where they came from

Pretty ironic when you put it with this quote.

Good thing we added Mizzou to reunite the Confederacy.

The funny thing is that from his perspective about the power conferences, he is using the opposite analogy. He should be comparing the power programs to the North - manipulating the system to ensure that the power stays with this group, and forcing the other programs to either accept being underrepresented or break away.
Sounds like he is on the wrong side of his own analogy.

Yeah but that comparison wouldn't grab the headlines like this does

Instead of the SEC chant, it could be CSA CSA CSA!!

Hey! Now don't go there. Kentucky gave both presidents to that conflict and our state was split in two.
What's a commonwealth to do?
Thanks for kicking Kansas' arse anyway.

I bet he'd had a few when he said this.

Well since multiple major conferences want to break away it's more akin to the Japanese, Italians and Germans ditching the League of Nations during the 30s. Since the US and soviets weren't participants, the rump body was basically the AAC/big east

Speaking of forgetting where he came from:
1)Lied about playing football for the Univ of New Hampshire
2)Lied about getting a master's degree from NYU

Obama will jump all over this to shift attention from Bergdhal.

We kicked their arse last season, at their place, with our backup QB Dylan Thompson. Their only loss. Kept them out of BCS NCG contention. Why do you think he is pissed?
First shot already fired.
