Post your thoughts, predictions, and whatever else you think and I will update the OP.

If anyone knows the recruiting class well, help me out and I will add to the incoming freshmen list, as well as the depth chart if you think they will contribute right away.

Also, CDawg, if you could sticky this for long enough for us to talk about it for the next little while that would be much appreciated. TIA.

OP edited to add Ross Mitchell

C: Collins
2B: Heck
SS: Holland
3B: Britton
1B: Rea
LF: Vickerson
CF: Brown
RF: Swinarski
DH: Humphrey's

If Rea can bounce back I think our lineup will actually be pretty good. I am pretty pumped about Swinarski...I think he will be a good one.

Yeah Swinarski is supposed to be the real deal. Graduated high school a year early, he's like our version of Bryce Harper hopefully.

I hope Rea either does something or we start playing Garner there.

I think all signs point to Heck moving over to second and Holland playing SS, that's why I have them both bold at SS, just don't want to take anything for granted yet. However out of all the newcomers I think he is pretty much a lock to play a lot right away.

Also, if Humphries is as good as advertised in the field I think he starts next year. Britton is not going pro hitting sub .230 like he has for the past 3 years so if Humphries can keep up with him defensively I don't know why you don't try to find another bat at the DH position.

I think as long as Britton is hitting around .250 Cohen will start him.

You're probably right.

I would hope that if you could get Humphries at 3B, all things equal, with a .270+ avg, 5-10 HR, and then another DH in Garner perhaps with similar numbers at the plate you would do that.

I added the names from your list to the incoming freshmen post and we can keep up with whether or not they can make it to campus or get drafted there.

How many years of eligibility does Rea have? He's taking his 4th senior lap it seems.

Who would you have playing the two positions?

To think that maybe Heck stays and Holland goes to second isn't that big of a stretch either, but with Heck's body of work this year and the things that Holland did in his freshman season at FSU and in JC it looks like hes a pretty damn good player.

Basically this:

Heck is better defensively. He'll stay at SS and Holland will fill pirtle's spot at 2B.

That is the lineup I would like to see as well.

If Rea can just learn to hit 1/5 breaking balls I would be fine with him playing 1B and having Garner DH.

I don't have a problem with rea starting some but there is just no reason for him to be in the game against a right hander.

If we play Britton at 3B for the majority of the year I don't want the two of them in the same lineup.

However, if we play Humphries at 3B more, I am fine with having Rea at 1B with Garner at DH.

I just don't want two .240- hitters in the same lineup, knowing neither is going to buck that trend in the long term.

I am basing this on fielding percentages. I don't see Cohen switching up something that is working. Besides Frazier, Heck has been our best defensive shortstop since Maniscalco.
