Tip of the hat to Mitch Gaspard

that guy has a resolve and finds a way to channel it to his team. I know Mike Martin always fields one of the best teams in America until Memorial Day and collapses, but winning that game down there was huge.
Much like Miles and the Louisiana hurricanes in 2005, I don't think Gaspard gets enough credit from the fans nor media for the way he guided that team through those heartbreaking tornadoes in 2011.Everyone in America would have understood if they had just mailed it in after seeing their town leveled and so many in the immediatae area killed. But not this bunch. They rose to the occassion and played good baseball.

Tip of the hat for his team winning one game?
Alabama folded like a cheap tent down the stretch this year.

I think he was a slightly more 9th inning collapse away from being fired

Not necessarily, they just ran into better baseball teams down the stretch this year. It's still a young group

He's done a decent job...like Rise said, we're young.
Although, I was pissed with what happened in the ninth yesterday after he pulled our starter.

Hasn't made it out of the regionals since 2010. I fail to see what 2011 has to do with our shitty offensive numbers.

He leaves much to be desired at times but he's a tremendous recruiter. Maybe a brand new facility is what gets him over the top. I do wish he would make changes to his staff.

We lost our no. 3 pitcher about a month ago.
He tried to pitch relief yesterday, walked one and hit 2 batters.
Also we played USC, UK and Florida from the East.
The SEC schedules can't have all 13 teams in each teams schedules, so there will be some schedules each year that are tougher, we had one of the toughest schedules this year seeing as we missed both Mizzou and Georgia 2 of the bottom 3 teams.
I think 15-14 was good, and if we hadn't lost Keller we probably finish 17 12.

How can you after five years? I've yet to agree with his in-game decisions on a consistent basis. But he has signed some great players considering he hasn't had the facilities other programs have at their disposal. That changes very soon.

As much as I dislike Bama, I always feel bad for that baseball team. I'm watching them beat an exhausted GA Southern team.

I don't think Gaspard is very good with his in game decisions either.
We are at a disadvantage with recruiting,, I can't remember but it seems other states get more scholarships paid for, or that is the way I understood it a few years back.
We also have bad facilities, which will soon be rectified with a 30 million dollar stadium.
With these new bats you have to approach the game with a small ball attitude.

This is true. Teams in states with lottery scholarships can have in-state kids who qualify for those scholarships play without counting against total scholarships.
The facilities are also sub-par which makes recruiting harder. That means we needed to be very selective with recruiting the right kids. Unfortunately the staff has invested a lot into guys that didnt pay off.
Despite the disadvantages, Alabama is not a hard school to recruit to.
Maybe Gaspard has turned the corner as the freshman do appear to have promise but well have to wait and see how next season turns out.
