Question for the hogs: why does tFlagship refuse to schedule ASU?

This has puzzled me for a while now. LSU played Tulane for a long time until Tulane de-emphasized athletics, Kentucky plays WKU even when it isn't a gimme win (much respect), Vandy even plays UT every year.
Why is Arkansas so afraid to give ASU a shot? ASU has been competitive in recent years, it would be good for the state; you could do some kind of trophy and play in little rock every year.
Any explanations would be appreciated.

The risks outweigh the benefits. It's a simple case of insurance.

The better question is why would we play them. There is absolutely zero to gain from playing them. It does to bother me in the slightest that we've never scheduled them.

It's a lose lose situation for the hogs. A win over ASU does nothing for Arkansas and a loss would be an embarrassment

I sometimes forget about them and I live in this state. They are pretty irrelevant

The same reason Alabama and Auburn will not schedule UAB, USA, or Troy.

Since 1958, we had a policy to no longer play DII schools.
stAte didn't move up to the FCS level until the 80s and BCS level in the mid 90s.
It has nothing to do with "fear", they were DII for a long, long time, Arkansas didn't play Arkansas Tech, UCA, UA-PB etc either.
stAte feels like Arkansas should elevate their program, through exposure, financially, and by giving a percentage of our resources, in other words stAte favors socialism, we have no obligation to do so.
We do not play any of the other D1 instate programs either, 2 of which are in the UA school system, (UALR, UAPB) to go with stAte and UCA.
Bama/Auburn doesn't play Troy/USA/UAB, Nebraska doesn't play Creighton, Texas doesn't play aTm, Arkansas isn't in a unique situation of not allowing lil bro to have a game with big bro.

Probably the same reason A&M doesn't schedule Texas State, Baylor, Houston, or Texas Tech.
