This kid is full to the brim with confidence, like so many other stars before him. The greatest players from any sport were as confident as could be.

He's passionate and talented and I hope he does wreck the league.

Those who dislike him, why?

No idea. I love the dude. It's mainly the "get off my lawn" crowd.

Maybe people don't like him because of his acne?

Kid's a cocky douche. Same reason people dislike Brady or Lebron. Not saying I don't like him, because I do. But it's not hard to figure out why people don't like him.

I love Johnny. I'll be a semi-browns fan because of him

I think there is a difference between being confident and being cocky. As an older American (53) I don't care for it in any area of life. There is a difference. I think the younger crowd does not see the difference in cocky and confidence and therefore they approve of it. They like the rub it in your face mentality. I recall when Miami started doing it in the 90's and it led to the taunting and celebration rules that we have now. But carry on JFF and I wish him the best luck at the Browns. I am a chiefs fan so it wont affect me either way if he is successful with the browns as the two teams paths wont cross often. Maybe once every two years or in the playoffs.

No, I'm not a fan. But only because I think he's overrated and smokes cigs.

Taunting has been going on in football for 40 years. Professional athletics is one job where being cocky is allowed imo. To each his own.

Yes - I prefer a quiet confidence like a Peyton Manning over an attention whore like Manzeil. I too am an older American but I can't remember a time when I would have liked a guy's antics similar to Manzeil. Doesn't matter now, though. He plays pro and I don't pay much attention to NFL.

I guess you are part of the younger crowd that I mentioned. Am I right? and no taunting has not been going on. Bear used to say win with class. When scoring a TD hand the ball to the ref. I am pretty sure there are exceptions going back but with UM it as every play they would do a dance or something in your face. There is a difference right?

I love it when he says I'm just a kid from Kerrville, TX. Yeah the kid with the biggest house in Kerrville and a kid who had everything handed to him in life, cracks me up every time.

I'm 26, so yea I'm younger. I agree with the poster above you that I prefer quiet confidence, but I can appreciate Manziel's passion. He's a competitor to the ump-teenth degree and I'll take that over humility any day.

But as you said, I'm a different generation. I will admit I wouldn't allow my son to to act so arrogantly.

Sports are for entertainment and ratings not appeasing some conservative misguided notion that the world is supposed to be a certain way.

Handed to him? How do you know that? He's clearly worked his arse off. You can't fault him because his family has done well. But he's now in the NFL and talent alone doesn't get you there.
