What about Turman?

I think Turman and Cofer picked a school and not a coach. Nothing definitive, but signs are pointing to them sticking.

Was there ever any clarification on Cofer? I know speculation was he might be let go too.

I wonder where Cornish is going to end up. I was a little surprised that he signed with yall in the first place. I didn't think he was that highly thought of.

Maybe Tyndall will help push him to one of his buddies like Brady or Kermit.

Apparently, Tyndall didn't even contact him. Message. Sent.

Austin is a big loss, in my opinion.

I guess that means he won't be helping Arky St or Middle pick him up.

I was not really a fan of anyone in this class outside of Cofer tbh. Austin and Turman play positions of need but neither bring anything special to the table imo. Cofer's athleticism is the only special thing in the entire class.

I tend to agree, but you can't help but be impressed by Austin's offer list; Iowa, Illinois, Memphis, Kansas State, Okie State, Wake Forest, Tennessee.

I guess it will be more telling to see where he ends up. If it's one of those bigger basketball schools, I have to think we missed on a decent prospect.

I'm guessing most big times schools are set by now on a PG.

Turman will be a beast. Cofer seems more on the project side. Congrats on both.

Pretty much the exact opposite of what most Vol fans are saying. I've never watched their film, so I don't really have a self-educated opinion.

Did those Vol fans watch Turman in the State Playoffs? He owned the kid from Buford headed to UConn.

ETA: I havent seen much of Cofer. But I think Turman will be a heck of a player in the right system.

If we miss on Jackson Davis, I really hope we go after Turman. He's a mauler.

Yeah, he seems to fit a Cuonzo/Grant style much better than what Tyndall wants to do.

He'd probably be restricted from SEC schools, no?

It'd be extremely bad press for UT to do that

It is an SEC rule.

quote:

Have seen some reports that UT is restricting released hoops signees from playing in #SEC. That's not true. A school that releases a player from NLI can place no restrictions on where player goes. BUT, SEC itself has as a rule. SEC bylaw 15.01 says a released SEC signee can't receive a scholarship at another SEC school until after his first two years there. So, basically, UT's released signees probably aren't going to an SEC school. But the league as a whole set it up that way, not UT specifically. That SEC bylaw (15.01) went into effect in August of 2006.
