SEC vs NFL?

Slive
I don't think they will beat the NFL at least not in the early season. But by November if there's a good matchup between two teams who could go to SECCG then yeah, I think it can compete. It's all going to be demographics anyway. No NY Giants fan is going to watch SEC if his team plays Sunday night.

It wouldn't be remotely close.

I hope it fails early so Georgia isn't playing a game on Sunday. It's SATURDAY in Athens god dammit. Not Sunday, Monday, or Thursday.

I'll watch an SEC game over just about any NFL game, but I'd imagine I am not the majority. I'm also exponentially more invested in UGA football than any NFL team. Not a fan of having a college game the day before classes, though.

I watch college over NFL but once you leave the southeast they'll get clobbered. And I really will be pissed if they start doing Georgia games on any day other than Saturday. If it isn't broke don't fricking fix it.
This is also as mad as I'd be if Georgia ever had a home Thursday game.

no way. The past few years UK/UL has been on opening weekend Sunday. I imagine it would be a similar type of deal (I didn't click the link) where it's early before NFL starts.
Anyone thinking the SEC would compete in November wit the NFL has lost their mind. I posted this yesterday but look at this link from 2011's most viewed sporting events. SEVENTY FIVE of the top 100 are NFL games, and the first NCAA game, the national title, isn't until the 18 spot. The next one isn't until 45.

I can't see that happening. I know gestapo adams is gone, but still..the entire campus would have to shut down Thursday and they damn sure know nobody would go to class on Friday. SC does it on the reg but their stadium is off campus so it's not as big of a deal.

Computer Science department doesn't ever do Friday classes. I'm in.
Except that even doing classes on Thursday would be unfeasible, as well. Traffic is bad enough when classes are on...adding a gameday on top of that would be suicide.

If we were to ever have a thursday game, still having class wouldn't even be a remote possibility.

Only good part about Thursday is getting to watch Saturday games but working is gonna frick me out of a home game and I REALLY don't want to have to punch a baby
