Seems they're winning in the trenches. Is it just me? I "have great "disdain" for each program.

Why do people misspell other teams names in a thread title and follow that by posting garbage.

We get robbed every season. The ongoing excuse is we can't get all the instate recruits which is accurate but the truth is we lose key recruits every season especially on the OL and much needed recruits in our Secondary (not necessarily this season but generally). This is one of problems that has kept Richt from building a complete/championship team.

Well, when you have the 4th most talent rich state in America, in addition to having 8 national big name (a few which are in 'elite' status) programs touching your border...it's impossible to get everyone.

But surely you know that.

That's why we don't compete for a NC each year

False. We haven't been competing for NCs because since 2008/9 our defense has been incredibly weak. The last year that it was "pretty good", we did compete for a NC. 01-04 our defense was on the verge of elite but our offense sputtered at times. When our offense took off, our defense has been bad. Our lack of titles has nothing to do with us not recruiting GA better. And some of our best talent recently (Stafford, knowshon, AJ, murray, gurley, marshall, momass, sturdivant, etc) have been from out of state, so that makes the point further irrelevant.

Not really.

02- title caliber team (will shorten to TCT) that lost 1 game, which had nothing to do with our secondary or OL

03- OL was absolutely a weak point, big time. Probably the worst we've had. HOWEVER, with that said, we were a blown assignment away from playing for the national title. If we beat LSU in baton rouge, we play ole miss in the SECCG (win) and end the season with 1 loss, just like LSU actually did. We also lost to UF, due to not giving lumpkin more carries for some reason. Despite the poor OL play, this team could've played for a title.

04- TCT. Offense played inexplicably bad against UT and we got shellacked by one of Auburn's best teams ever. Had nothing to do with recruiting.

05- TCT, lost to UF with our QB hurt but only gave up like 14 points. Offense let us down. Blown assignment due to concussion lost against AU.

07- TCT, offense lost the game against USC and defense sucked arse against UT

08- TCT, defense was pretty mediocre all season. The entire defense, not just the secondary.

12- Grantham lost us the title.

Btw, when I say TCT I don't mean the team "should have" won the title or was even the best team in the country. What I mean is that the pieces were in place to make a run.

Recruiting is not why we haven't won a title. Certainly, with top 3 classes our chances would be improved, but we've had plenty enough chances even with our top 10 classes.

YOu must be a deeprig alter, because there's no way anybody could reasonably debate that point from the other side.

Your points are all valid. Maybe o-line recruiting isn't the problem. Maybe it's the coaching. I just know that the o-line has been an issue for the Richster most of his tenure. It is true that we've had some shots over the last few years, but I question how much of that was on a quick thinking qb, even though I slammed Murray many times, and a other worldly back. Murray and Gurley have both more than made up for poor blocking on third and short or missed blocks on key third down passing situations. Idk. I would just love to go into one season knowing that the line was one of our team strengths. I was always taught that the game is won in the trenches.

it definitely has, I can't deny that. I'm just saying it's not the sole reason we haven't won more.

That's a deep insult and a dull cutting knife... No reason for such churlish behavior and all that<

Maybe they were taken to the woodshed because they were fat and out of shape from lack of proper diet and training.

It's been rumored that the Pruitt had Tereshinski remove the snow cone machine from the weight room last Friday amidst huge protest...

Granted, but they are getting to "elite" status off other peoples recruits. They had to get there somehow. Yes, we get good recruits from outa state, but our recruiting ranking should somewhat mirror the #4 talent rich state shouldn't it? We don't have as many in state schools to compete with like Texas, California, or Florida. If our in state guys could buy into the fact that UGA could be on elite status if these guys stayed home every year, we wouldn't be having this discussion. As it stands, you can bet Bama, Auburn and our other neighbors are black balling us in front of recruits. I can't blame them, becuase it gets the results that fans come to see.

Nope, we just happen to have UF, FSU, Clemson, USCe, Bama, AU, UT all on our doorstep.
