Can think of one right now. Slip began in about 2006, 2007. Starts with a T.

We would fit on that list real nice

I guess Ole Miss never counted - FWIW Tennessee is on life support seeing as they have pretty much the same record as Minn or Illinois of late.

I thought about Mississippi. What year would you use? 1964? Here's what you'd get for that year:
Win % before 1964: 59%
Win % after 1964: 53%
Claimed National Championships before 1964: 3
Claimed National Championships after 1964: 0
Conference Championships before 1964: 6
Conference Championships after 1964: 0
Heisman Winners before 1964: 0 (? finalists)
Heisman Winners after 1964: 0 (? finalists)
I didn't include OM or UT because they're still at least treading water win percentage wise but they're certainly less relevant. Give Tennessee another decade of mediocrity and they'd be on the list. Six years of suck is not a complete drop off. They've still got a 61% win percentage since 1999.
They're my guess though.

The SEC has more elite programs than any other conference in the country, roughly six depending on which you count. They can't all last and we can assume that at least one will decline. Look at the cases I posted, we can see that this happened with the Big Ten. Two good programs ran to ground.
Completely relevant discussion for the SEC.

Tennessee is kind of a sad case. Those 90s squads were legendary.
They're the Nebraska of the SEC.

I'll be honest....it pisses me off that Mizzou doesn't claim 1960. Undefeated season. Best record at end of that season.
Yet, schools like Illinois claim 5+...school that Mizzou's dominated so bad that said schools refuse to play Mizzou anymore.
The Mizzou Way, right?

Has UGA done shite since CVD left?

I would say USCe, but they've never been worth a shite.

UGA spent 40 years between their first 2 national championships. It's only been 33 years since their last one.
It's been a while, but I'd cut them some slack. They've managed to avoid long-term obscurity.
