Going to Church Regularly

How many of you go to church regularly? I'm mid 40s and have never been as, not really turned-off, but not as driven to go anymore. I see this in quite a few people who are either like me or have changed churches multiple times, searching for . . . something modern churches are not giving them.
Thoughts?

Organized religion is the problem not the solution

I do the home church thing. Enjoy it much more than any institutional church I ever attended.

The only reason I would go too church is to listen to Pastor Freeze

I haven't in awhile largely because I have some fundamental issues with some of the teachings of churches in this area. It's probably driven me to be more subscribed to Agnostic theism than Christianity at this point. I believe there's something out there, I'm just not sure I believe what is outlined in the Bible or at least what is interpreted from the Bible by churches I've been to over time.

There will be many idiots in this thread and praise Jesus for all of them.

That's mighty Christian of you.

I wish I could go to a church where it had old style gothic architecture and an organist who plays hour long compositions.

Haven't gone regularly in the past year, mainly due to working weird hours, though.

Pretty much this is me. I do go with my wife, and if you consider once every month or two going regularly then I guess I do. I can usually glean something from the sermon to apply to my life, and the Episcopal church we go to is free from the dogma of a lot of churches so I dig it enough to go with here occasionally.

Baptism and Catholicism rustle my jimmies.
Every time I attend a baptist ceremony all I do is stand up and act like I'm singing half the time.
I'm not even gonna voice my opinion on the Catholic Church. I'll probably be stoned to death in hell for all eternity if I do.

We go most of the time. Wife is more religious than I am.

This is my problem. I have yet to find a church where there are genuine people that attend and not people who use it as just a social gathering or judge me because I am not the most perfect Christian.

I love going to mass but I haven't been in a while. Always makes me feel like a good person. Walk with a little pep in my step shortly after.
Usually only at my Church though. I dislike modern churches with rock bands and projection screens and so on. Give me a huge stone cathedral and some old guy speaking Latin and I'm good.

Have you tried an Episcopal church? I've found it to be the least judgmental of the mainstream Christian religions. Some can be a little of the cliquish social scene, but most are pretty laid back.
Unitarian is pretty cool too, but very liberal and granola-ish.

I grew up Lutheran but moving frequently for my job has led me to try out many different protestant churches. Aside from Lutheran churches I enjoy Methodist churches the most. I liked Baptist and non-denominational/evangelical churches the least.
I never tried a Catholic, Orthodox or Episcopal/Anglican service...always kind of viewed the Episcopal church as a version of the Catholic Church for people of English descent and I didn't find that very attractive.

The largest issue we have here is the push for "super churches". It's become more about how much you put in the offering plate then it has about the teachings themselves.
There have been some smaller, more progressive churches pop up in the last few years. I may check out one of those.

If you find it, let us know where it is.

Ugh, there are 3 mega-churches within a mile of my house and Sunday morning traffic is dreadful.

Can I get an example of you being judged for not being the most perfect Christian?
