“That’s the first news that it’s been told to me,” Thomas said when asked if Collins had mentioned transferring. “You’ll have to ask Alex on that if that’s the case.” Interview requests for Collins were denied Tuesday. -

Over the last week, rumblings about Alex Collins wanting to transfer were running rampant (pay wall). Several are asking what’s wrong with the Hogs’ best player?

Just a tiny bit concerned with Thomas' response, but I just can't see Collins being unhappy. Looks to me that these two sites are just trying to drive #'s

It all stems from Mike Irwin posting it on HV. Otis hadn't even heard about it until a poster brought it over. Otis called up a source who said it wasn't true and he posted that article. It's really been the message board posters themselves making the rumor grow.

So Robbie Neiswanger is reporting on a rumor that Otis saw on Hogville?

Is that correct?

Good gawd, what has happened to journalism?

Robbie got wind of AC being a bit in the doghouse for not giving 100% effort, and being a bit too enjoyable of his fame.

Robbie tweeted it, and then later said "It will work itself out, AC not going anywhere"

We are the most juvenile fanbase (once bitten twice shy) in the universe over stuff like this.

Crazy really..

So true! Never seen a fanbase do more hand wringing over the status of players than us.

No such thing in this state, be it sports or otherwise.

Eh, I tend to be pretty cynical about our fan, but I'll cut it some slack on this one given the "anniversary" we just had and the resulting turmoil over the last two years.

Irwin has posted his opinions/conjecture on HiV for years now, when he worked for Channel 5, they made him stop posting on the boards as people couldn't tell the difference between what he thought vs what were facts. He ended up doing a video blog on their website that few payed attention too, his contract ended up not being renewed.

Now he works for a channel that is a sponsor of that messageboard, further muddying the difference between his "reporting" and his conjecture. The easiest way to tell is those guys "reporting" always gets stickied their opinions/view points are thrown in random threads.

Plenty of the "media" play the fence too much, they all hinted about problems surrounding Petrino during the Cotton Bowl, but would not come out and list in detail what the problems were until well after Petrino was fired.

They love to keep things stirred up speaking in vagueness that leaves Porkatarian saying DaFuqDisSposeToMean? When the posters take off in a direction completely opposite of what is true and what they "meant" by the post, they rarely step in to correct it. They also love to report only one side of a story, the side that fits the groupthink of that site...

Some might say Alex is unhappy, some might disagree.

stupid fans gonna stupid fan

if I was AC3 I wouldn't confirm or deny shite, let the fans wring their hands and worry. stupid fans deserve to worry. when he graduates or leaves for the NFL draft, maybe they'll stop worrying then

Not even gonna lie, I like and appreciate this. Media toe the company line when things are okay rather than releasing dirt that can hurt the program.

Just like today with the UCA/UALR brawl, they didn't comment anywhere until CBS ran with it.

If anything I'd say he's too happy. Having too much fun, not pushing himself like the coaches know he needs to keep improving.

That's what I was thinking regarding the week long suspension, looks like he's loving him some college life.

Good for him

gotta say this thread seems highly unnecessary and something that you would find on HV.

Wrong,

If it was on HIV, Porkatarian would know something for reelz with sources and all.. OUT

Duckman would testify that John Gruden had something to do with it

Muskogee would promise that there is more to the story than meets the eye

And, THe Texas owner would vow that AC was on the right track with a hookem horns sigh.
