In the spring, it's just Hilliard and McGee back there, with walk-ons around them.

In the fall, Fournette and Williams arrive.

Hilliard and Magee return to the back field. Both with plenty of experience. They will get a lot of carries next year and both will help teach Fournette once he gets on campus. We are not as deep as we normally are, but if everyone stays healthy, we will still have a top notch running game.

Just fine considering Blue wasn't a factor at all after his injury. It will be the buganation show once he gets on campus. damn the nola catholic schools for not getting on the program of kids graduating early.

Hilliard shouldn't get many carriers unless he has dedicated himself to getting back to freshman form.

Any indication that Fournette will take the reigns quickly ala Collins at Arky?

Ain't that the truth. Too many potato chips and munchies I guess.

not yet but I think that is because he isn't on campus. once the summer gets here I expect that he will take the reigns quickly. 1. Hilliard hasn't been good since 2011, he has had good games vs scrubs but not against good teams. 2. we have shown that we will play freshmen earlier as of late. 3. it is running back and freshmen seem to be fine when thrown in early.

also LF has said in interviews the things he knows he needs to work on such as blocking. I assume he has a playbook by now and is learning the assignments

LSU will go by committee in the fall, like they have always done under Les.

I imagine he'll be getting the bulk of the carries early on. Though, I would bet a paycheck that, barring injury, Magee gets the first RB carry of the season though.

With depth being so thin for Spring, one of our fullbacks has seen an increased workload carrying and catching the ball. Something I expect will be carried over to the fall.

VERY thin in the spring. Only two scholarship guys back there (four if you include FBs).

Only two more scholarship guys coming in this fall (Fournette and Darrel Williams), so that should help with the depth situation. Still, I'd like for us to have more guys back there, but that's just not the way it will be this coming season.

The 2015 recruiting class has a real focus on RBs. Nick Brossette and David Ducre are already committed, and Derrius Guice is a serious contender. Those three would be huge to aid with the depth situation.

What the hell happened with Hilliard? After his freshman year I thought he was going to being a badass.

I really wish we would adapt the bama style of having a 1-2 punch instead of a 4 horse stable.

the lack of good depth might bring us to that this year with buganation and TM getting most of the carries for us. Hilliard goes down extremely easy for a guy his size.

Between his freshman and sophomore years his GF had twin daughters.

The committee might be 2 guys (Magee/Fournette) with a spare few for the rest. I don't know what happened to Hilliard but the explosiveness of his freshman spring seems gone.
